Best 6.5" Components for $400 or just under

I've been looking at the following:

Focal 165K2 for $379
Diamond Audio S600s for $329
Koda 6.1MkII for $349
OZ 180CS for $319
DLS UR6 for $385

I listen mostly to R&B, Rap like Beastie Boys (not gansta), pop & rock, etc. I DO NOT, DO NOT like harsh highs, I like nice smooth highs. I like good punchy and/or deep midbass and really just the best SQ I can get for around $400.

I plan to feed this set with "up to" 200 x 2 @ 4 Ohms. I can go less on the amp gain if the comps can't handle that power.

I would go with the Focals, they sound great and if I'm not mistaken they won the EISA award for mobile loudspeaker of the year for 2004.

I think the only 'smooth ' sets on your list are the DLS and OZ Elites- although never heard the Koda tweet

I have a set of Diamond Hex comps and love them. I would highly recomend them to anyone.

all the ones you mentioned will do what you want, make sure they are installed correctly and you tinker with them. make sure the play together in phase at your ears (sumtimes by speaker location + isnt always + for the speaker.
