ok guys. this box ain't cuttin it. i decided i'll attempt to build a new box myself or have someone help me. my subs are the 2 12" DVC 4ohms L7's. i came up with these specs using winISD. can anyone tell me if these specs would be good and if the volume would be ok? thanks.
Fb:38.58
TOTAL ft^3:3.25ft^3 (single chamber box)
Port specs: 3.25"Hx3.25"Wx3.39"L (1 port for the box)
.75" mdf
W:26.71"
H:15.00"

does this seem like a good box for these subs? thanks for input. opinions on what you'd change. btw it's going in a 98 4dr ford escort se. (small trunk).

seems kind of a small box for a pair of L7's

yeah i juzt measured it out and that might be a good box for 1 L7. hm......so anyone have any idea what the volume of my box should be then?

Straight off of the KICKER (http://www.kicker.com/ShowPage.cfm?filename=04L7SOLOSUB.HTML&menu=SUBWOOFERS)
website:

Minimum: 1.75 cf w/2 3.5cf
Maximum:3.25cf w/2 6.5cf
Per L7
That's excluding port volume.

well i have 2 of them so would the 3.5 be enough for a single chamber? i'm really wanting a single chamber with 1 port..limited trunk space.

You definetly need bracing as well. I'd brace the **** out of anything over 1.25 cubes with a sub that weighs as much as the l7 and gets as much power thrown through it. Also double baffle it.

how much more space would all that take up? i kno i gotta calculate all those in my measurements.

It depends on how you brace it and what not, if you are tyring to conserve trunk space dual l7's is not the way to go.

well i'm not all much for using my trunk space as my current box pretty much uses it..i juzt need a box big enough to fit in, yet give the subs proper volume space. plus i got the 2 L7's off ebay. $280 for the pair. i thought it was a good deal. i juzt installed my previous amp into my friend's car today along with my punch P1 sub in a sealed truck box and **** :scared: that **** hit harder than when it was in my car. it had great sq though. i kinda miss it now that i think about it..he has a panasonic HU and i have a kenwood..i was sad and pissed. :thumbsdo:

ok i just measured my pre-fab box and it's 32 1/4" w 15 1/4" h 16 1/4" l. when i go to pull it out of my trunk, i have maybe 3/4" of clearance from the top of the trunk. the trunk opening is barely wide enough to slide the box in and out of. so i thought if it would do anything for the subs if i built a box and added an inch or so more to it. or would it be beneficial to make a wedge design to fit? my trunk space length at the smallest is 45" and the largest is 55". the opening is like 29". and the depth is like 52" or so. is there any possible way to get a box for my 2 L7's to fit even if it's a single shared chamber w/one port? i kno this might be getting annoying but i'm juzt checking every possibility i can. thanks.
