Make sure they will be able to fit even with adapters. Those 5x7 holes can be a *****.

Infinity and MB quart has some decent products for cheap. If you dont mind Ebay they got some stuff to.

F150s have 6.5s in the doors, not 5X7s.
Check cardomain.com. They usually won't sell junk, especially a set 0f $80-$100 2-way speakers. Pioneer, Clarion, JVC, Infinity, and Rockford Fosgate are all good brands to get midbass and up speakers.
Of course, not saying that someone here won't try to bash down at least one of those brands; but hey, just go to ABC Warehouse, Best Buy, Circuit City, Walmart, whatever, and listen to what they offer. If it sounds better than everything else you can also afford, you've found your speakers.

well i guess you already though of it( other post)...i'd suggest a used set or a new set of mb quart discus series or alpine type r's... www.ikesound.com they are around that..the r's are 118 and the mb's are 120 ish...
my dad's running Boston Rally 6.5's in his '91 F-150...I'm running FX6's in my van, never had a problem with Boston Acoustics products...

newer ones have 6"x8". i made a template for my mustang doors and used a 6.5" driver from a component system. as for coaxials, the diamond audio cm361i's sound great, also pioneers revv tsd-170r's they are oversized 6.5"s (the revv series is pioneer's higher end) sound great. they have a slightly larger tweeter than most coaxials. also, how much power are you going to be giving to them.

well power wise im prolly only giving them whatever the head gives them which is 54x4 but thats all.

well, i'd then suggest a decent co axail(?) then..your only gettin 18-22 rms per speaker out of that
