lets say i do get some 6.5" components (2 way). My car is like this:

I have 4" speaker holes in my dash

no way am i going to cut holes in my door, its made of leather.

and i guess maybe some room for kicks on the floor.

should i put the tweet in my dash speaker slots, and just put the woofer in the kick, or should i put the tweet and woofer in the kick and leave the dash speaker holes empty.

Which way would have the best imaging???

i am open to other ideas also.

i would sell the car and get a new one. if you dont want to cut holes in the door you aint gonna have no kind of mid bass. unless you try to put some 6.5 in the kick. if you must put the tweets in the dash

tweet and mid in kick.
Thats prob the best imaging.
Why not get a 4" component set and a 6 1/2" mid in the kick ?

that idea sounds best- a nice 3way set will kick as s in that car- and the 4in will be
handling strictly midrange

Okay... now im really confused.

im going to go with the 4" components, and get a 6.5" midwoofer with that.

stick the midwoofer and the tweet in the kick, and the 4" in the deck.

now i have 4 questions (sorry)

first quesion: are there any good 4" comp sets out there around the same price as the rainbow dreamlines??

second question: is it okay to mix brands with the mid woofer??

third question: how am i going to cross over/power the comps and the midwoofer? do they need separate channels in the amp??

fourth question: what is the point of a 6.5" if i have the 4" for the midrange, tweets for the highs, and a sub for the lows?? is there a below midrange or something?

Just turn and try new aiming positions them till they sound best. A lot of car audio speakers are designed to work best off-axis, so they might not be aimed at you or the headrest, but rather more toward your feet. It all depends on the speakers/vehicle/etc etc
