I was wondering what yall would recomend, i need a 6.5 coaxial for about $150, i wanted to get some CDT CL's with an amp and everything but my dad said "you dont need all dem wire ran in your car" so i cant do that anymore so now i am stuck with coaxials powered off the h/u what would yall recomend?
also my car has tweeter mount so i was wondering if i could buy some cheap tweeters and stick them in there?
also my car has the infinity system in it, do i have to bypass that amp?

i dont know which coxials to recomend because i havent heard any.
Yes you should just unplug the factory amp and splice up the wires and connect them individually by yourself. Some cars have the stock amp right in the front behind the head unit and some have the factory amp in the trunk. Its a simple process either way.
Just wait till you get a sub and upgrade the speakers + amp. That way you can do all of the wiring at once. Even if you only do the sub only you can leave a couple of extra connections under the carpet so that you can make upgrades in the future easily
hope this helped.

well what will it do if i dont bypass the amp, will it hurt the speakers?
dude. run the wires when your dad isnt home. and then tell him that you bought coaxials.
hide the amp under the rear deck of your car, or under a seat. just get a small 2 channel 100 or 200 watt amp, and use 8 or 10 guage wire. hide everything as much as you can, and mount the tweeters in the stock location.
your dad will never know if you dont tell him.
these phrases come to mind - "out of sight, out of mind", "what you dont know cant hurt you"
basically, i think you can splice the RCA connectors to the INPUT signal wires to the amplifier. there should be at least FOUR of them - 4 for the front channel, 4 for the rear channel.
in each RCA wire, there are two seperate plugs, and in each plug there is a GROUND and a +, thats FOUR wires. you might wanna find a wiring diagram online or somewhere to see what ones are what.
then just splice\solder them on, heatshrink them down, pop out the old speakers, run your wire from where the amp goes, and your golden.
get some RE components (150ish i think) and mount the crossovers inside the door or under the dash (hide it) and you have no problems.
what do ya think?
Boston FX6's coaxials...or the older Rally series...
I've had good luck with them.

i think you should probably go down to a shop and just listen to a few different speakers that way you get what you like, not what we like.

^^^^ yeah x5 cus there might be an big differnce of what we like vs. what u like.

say i was to get some JL coaxials the TR's r the lower quality speaker from JL and they r the RMS on those r 50 watt and the XR's r a higher quality speaker from JL but they r 70 watts RMS so what would sound better with out an amp the TR's , which dont require as much power, or the XR's which would be under powered more, but r a better speaker?

thats wat im sayin...these r great comps for the price you're asking. i just need money and u need speaks. these will sound great comin off a hu but u can always get an amp later. 120 is nothing. save some money man.

Hold off and do some research.
I haveheard all of these, they will sound good off your headunit. Then when you can either get the money or talk your dad into letting you get and amp, put some power to them and you will like them more.
