skipping issues, please help

Ok, i have a cheaper panasonic deck that has actually treated me really well until now. I have two 15" phoenix gold titaniums that are running off a visionik v900xd. When i first got the subs and amp, everything was fine, but now my cd player is skipping like crazy when i have the bass up. Is there anything that can be done about this, or should i just not worry about it and buy a new deck?

Any ideas on why its starting to skip now, and it didn't skip for the first 4 or 5 months i had the subs?

Also, if you could name some cheap, reliable HU's that wont skip, that would help out a lot. I have everything running off external amps, and i don't care about mp3 compatability, just CD-R and RW's. Just want something basic that sounds nice and wont skip from a lot of bass.

you can try cleaning it but most of the time the laser becomes miselined a cd player is nothing more really than a digital record player.

Yeah, its odd...some days it works fine, and then some days it skips to my lou. I'm liking the Clarion dxz745mp though. Will probably go with that or maybe an alpine 9827. Got any opinions on these two?

Iceteebone has a Panasonic DRX900U for sale...pretty darn cheap too. Take a look at it.

i have a panasonic now, and it skips like crazy...i'm going for a different brand this time.
