hey, im about to start building my ported box for 2 premier 2000spl's, and i wanna paint it, but i have a lot of questions....

1-what type of paint should i use??
2-what grit type sand paper should i use before i primer it??
3-can i wet sand it??what grit should i use???
i guess thats it, if you have any tips or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.....

what are you trying to achieve with your paint job? do you want it to be nice and shiny like a car? if your going for the car finish look i suggest that you put a thin layer of body filler over the wood to fill in all the pores and imperfections in the wood. sand that down til its nice and smooth using say 220 grit to knock down the high spots then 400 grit to smooth it out. then you can use spray primer---i'd use 2-3 coats. you can actually wet sand the primer before putting on the enamel using either 1000 or 1500 grit. then just use an enamel paint. you can wet sand that also but be careful you don't sand through it down to the primer. then if you like you can put on a clear coat.
