Hhmm, my favorite decks that I have owned.

Eclipse ECD-415
Eclipse 5341R
Eclipse CD8051
Eclipse CD8053(if you can count a deck that has been on the market for just over a year as "classic", but you use that standard so I will as well)
My current deck, the RF 8250

The other stuff I have owned(alpine, pioneer, kenwood, clarion) all come in behind any of those decks that I mentioned.

I just ordered the Eclipse CD3434. I hope it's as good as people say it is.

I currently have a Pioneer Premier DEH-350. I like it, but I'm hoping the Eclipse is superior.

I've really liked (and owned) the JVC Digifine series, solid HU's with great features, simple design, and awesome CD audio reproduction.

Rock solid.

Also keen on the old Clarion DRX9375R - well ahead of its time when released.

The 3434 doesn't have a ton of features. Any Eclipse I have ever owned sounded very nice set flat.
