Currently I have a p1-r in my mr2. I love the simplicity of the faces and the general high quality of the deck. Problem is I am addicted to using mp3's for evertything. SO far Pioneer has not released a mp3 capabkle cd changer so i can't go that route. I was thinking about try to get a sony add-on changer with rf controller and seeing if i can modify it to use rca in instead of the rf interface. Are the new priemer deck(i.e 960mp or 860mp) similar quality to the p1-r? I could get used to the flashy face but mostly i like the auto-eq, plus the 6 volts of the newer decks. ALso anybody know where one can get the Clarion drx9255, or the eclipse 8054 and hoiw much these decks run(just some other ideas)? These i like also because of the network settings but i would miss the auto-eq of the pioneers.

Also, is it true that the 860mp and the 960mp can't use auto-eq in network mode?

Yes, features are pretty close to the same. Some people actually prefer the newer decks over the P1R

You want the DRX or the DRZ? DRZ being the model just released, DRX being the old school model. If you are talking DRX, your only hope is egay or F/S forums (pop up every once in a while). If we are talking DRZ, you can get them at the local dealer (obviously).....retail will run you $1200+ unless they cut you a good deal. Or egay, which looks to be runnin' right around $800; http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=39757&item=5730051426&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

However, neither of them play MP3s.

or the eclipse 8054

I think you confused two model numbers; There is an 8053 (continuation of last years model, doesn't play MP3s w/o the Commander), and the 8454 (plays MP3's, brand new model).

The 8053 runs around $539 (IIRC) and the 8454 runs $599 retail. Don't buy Eclipse on line, stick with retailers for them.

cool thanks. looking at the eclispe ones the look like they have something similar to autoeq, anybody familiar with these?

Also, do the new premier decks have the ability to auto-eq in network mode?

It's generally better to set it by ear instead of using Auto-EQ, if that matters at all :)

But no, I don't believe auto-eq works in network mode

Any know when AUX input mode is ON (Premier DEX-P1R), where do I plug in the input? Uses one of the RCA outs in the back or a mini plug input in the front?

Thanks in advance,

Jerry

YUou must buy one of Pioneers AUX in adapters. Either a RB-10 or RB-20, i think those numbers are currect. Look around online the first one should be under or around 20.
