Howdy all.
I have a 64.5 Mustang Convertible that is currently in the middle of a
restoration. I have the interior all ripped out right now, and am beginning
to think about music...
I have been driving it a lot lately, and that has made it abundantly clear that
the original AM radio is not nearly good enough for a good cruise. (There really
aren't any music stations on AM in Chicago anymore...)
I have been planning on hiding a new head unit in the glove box or some such
place, installing a stereo speaker in the dash, and also a toggle swich that
would allow me to use either the new head unit, or the old radio. (Switching the
speaker outputs to the speaker only...)
I also have heard a little about new head units that come with remotes that
might work good for this application. I could install a remote or a remote face
plate in some easy to reach location.
But I am not expecting a ground shaking high-end experience here... just
something that will allow me to play FM, CD's and maybe MP3 CD's as well.
All it has to do is sound decent through my small pair of dash mounted stereo
speakers.
Any one have some good suggestions for what I want to do?
Thanks!
