I want a simple, inexpensive, reliable hu that plays mp3 cds. It will be running my stock ml320 speakers and amp, as well as a bx1500d and 2 s12l7's. What hu's would fit the bill?

Define "inexpensive".
Looking for any other specific options, or just whatever comes with the unit for X amount of $ ?

I second that recomendation for Kenwood Excelon KDC-X579. That 24-bit DAC makes nice clean sound. I was just looking at that model a couple of weeks ago. The only downside I saw was it only has 2v preouts.

I would get an Alpine 9827 off of ebay for about $120. After you make your decision, let us know what you went with!
