Hey guys I am on a super tight budget, and I need some 5.25 component speakers. I am pretty much on a 70 dollars per pair budget. I need something that will handle power without getting weird, and that still sound decent, distortion free is the goal, I have 100 rms to give to each of them. Here is what I’m looking at, from most likely to buy to least likely to buy.

Soundstream Xtreme XSC.5

Infinity 5000cs(don’t think I like the tweeter.-harsh)

Rockford Fnp2514

Kicker k5.2

Jbl gto series

I’m leaning heavy toward the soundstreams cause it looks like they might put up with some abuse, but I haven’t heard much about their speaks, so? The infinity are aright but I have had nothing but bad luck with infinity, but I guess I have to consider them. All the others are just ideas.

My only advice is save up. You will not be very happy with any of those most likely. Speakers like that can sound good, just require hours upon hours of work tuning and adjusting. I'd recomend saving up 150 and buying the RE comps, I got the chance to listen to them the other day and was blown away that speakers that cheap can sound that good, they were also mounted in stock locations.

I just picked up a set of RF FNX2514 for that price and have been pretty happy with them. I have yet to put much power to them, but so far, I haven't regreted it.

I didn't want to wait either, and figure these will hold me out for awhile..........the stocks wouldn't of!

Those are nice, I would still prefer the RE comps though.

im gonna try the RKC 113 from mbquart for now. I like the sound of mb quarts and they were a good deal so i bought them,--- better than no speaks for sure, and i cant afford 200-900 dollar speaks right now, even if i save, cause i got other stuff to buy, so these will hold me over for a few months i think and ill jusk keep my coaxial jbls in the deck for rear fill. hopefully i wont get too much distortion.

Gotta buy a season pass for skiing --- ima ski fanatic, gotta pay for college, gotta pay credit card bill, gotta pay car off, gotta pay insurance. I hate to say it but i gotta put my system on the back burner for a while, plus i need a clutch and tires for my car, man i shouldnt have even bought the mb quarts, oh well thats the way it goes. thanks for your help,

and feel free to give me a virtual biotch slap if you think im stupid for buying those speaks.
