I'm in the process of making a new HU mount. With this mount, my head unit would be at an angle of somewhere between 45-60 degrees. Are there any problems that might occur from this? My HU is Clarion DXZ735mp. I've held it at angles more extreme than that and it ran fine, but that was only for a short period of time. Just tell me what ya'll think.

If it's secure there won't be any problems.

IT may work it may not. I've had people want their HUs mounted in weird angles before.

The best way to check in my experience is holding and inserting cd's in and out if that works. Then check how well it's skip protection works by holding at an angle then taping it against the side of the dash progressively harder.

if u can get a buddy to hold it at the angle u want to mount it at and go for a cruise to see if it skips at all, maybe buy them a six pack so actually do it rather than complain lol

Have you read the manual or called Clarion yet?? I know all of my owner's manuals for HU's that I've owned have said what angles will/won't work for the unit. And if your manual doesn't say, Clarion should be able to give you a definite answer.

The manual says 30 degrees at most. I'll try it out at that angle soon. I know it works ok at 45 degrees, though.
