sup guys. i was wondering what you think is a better choice.

i can get a cda-9827 on ebay for ~$180ish +shipping (~$20) so ~$200 inc shipping. or i can spend an extra $60 and get it with a 3 year warranty on crutchfield.com (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-KHPXsc6Hpip/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=3&g=62700&I=500CDA9827&o=p&a=0&cc=01&avf=N&search=alpine+cda) including free shipping, andy a free dash harness for my car. what do you think is a better choice?

saving the 60 on ebay, or getting the benefits of a authorized retailer and the warranty\free tech support ect?

you think new is worth it?

ive gotten my amp and sub from ebay, but do you think that all the stuff crutchfield is offering with the HU - PLUS the warranty is a better deal and is worth the $60?

my rockford i got on ebay broke a few months after i got it and its been broken since. i think i may go with crutchfield.

does anyone know if this unit has good mp3 playback, fast loading times, fast forward (that you can hear), user friendly ect?

I would go for the ebay deal, cuz in my opinion if you are buying quality(like alpine) ya shouldnt need a warrenty and from what i understand they dont cover stolen cd players unfortunatly so no luck thier.... but go with what ya think

The problem with buying off of ebay is that you never know what you are going to get. It could be a refurb unit, or a b-stock unit, etc. Plus, nobody and no process is perfect. There will be some bad units, no matter how good the company is. I don't know of any company that has had 0 warranty returns on a product.

Case in point, look at the new Alpine Type-X 12" subs. All of the original batch shipped off to dealers with shorted voice coils. **** happens, and when it does you'll be glad you have that warranty. Imagine how many of those Type-X subs with shorted VC's inevitably are going to make their way onto ebay.............

I would have gone authorized as well, but where do you see that Alpine's warranty is 3 years? Crutchfield lists the warranty on alpine head units as 1 year. I have never heard anything different regarding Alpine's warranty.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-WOmMX4cp2Jf/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?i=500CDA9827&cc=01&search=alpine+9827

I saw where you could purchase an extended warranty, but that isn't a 3 year manufacturer warranty included in the $259 price.
