can you give a H/U a Tune up?

My Pioneer DEH-P9400MP is probably at my door step as I speak...I got it for a steal!!!but it is probably quite used..the seller claims it works AMAZING..has a pixel out in the display but no biggie and I can get a new faceplate if this bothers me too much.

BUT...I am worried this H/U might be on it's last leg...That the CD carriage is all dirty from years of use...that some knobs and components might be worn..
Can I take my H/U somewhere to get a "Tune Up?"..replacing some of the parts for new ones..clean it out etc...?? I have never heard of this before but I wonder if I can essentially refurbish this Head unit.


NO..I do not want to get a "new one" for $300 (in my case the 9400 is $500 new)

Any authorized Pioneer dealer should be able to do that for you. The parts like the CD transports and such are available from Pioneer. But I don't know if it would be worth the money. You could always just pop 'er open yourself and give 'er a shot of that duster stuff.

that seems like a good idea to me. make sure its not clogged full of dirt. maybe that new faceplate will do the trick.
