Do you have subs? What are you or will you set them at? Set your cossover to wear your subs either cutoff or around, to get a good blend.

Set them above to where they start to distort? Setting them to where your subs cutoff is what I've always done.

comps: 70hz
sub: no clue...but something under 100 hz...

I need midbass though (and it's not caused by destructive wave interference of the sub & comps or out of phase comps)....

Setting crossover points is car/equipment/setup specific. It's one of those things where you just have to sit down and play around with them till you find the one that sounds best in your setup. You can't always say that setting it where your sub's xover point is will work best. Sometimes you need some underlap, sometimes some overlap, etc etc.

I have my mids crossed over at ~50hz :D So far, they have handled it like a champ. Honestly it suprised me that they do so good crossed that low.

Yeah, like squeak said.

Without subs you'll want to run the hipass on your components as low as they can go without popping. That's a function of how much power you give them and what eq your hu is set for. 40-50 Hz is good if they can go that low. With no subs I usually run full range (no crossover) and just keep the volume down. Otherwise you miss a lot of music.

With subs you can hipass the comps higher and give them more power. Mine are set about 63Hz with the subs lowpassed at 80.
