I have a set of s500a Hex comps and love them!! it took some tweaking and adjusting of the levels and crossover etc, but after that they sound great. Real crisp, clean and detailed. I should have gone for the s600, I screwed up and believed someone that said my doors hold a 5 1/4 speaker when in fact they hold a 6.5. But for these little 5.25 mids they reallly produce well. I am giving them 150 watts to each side and they love it. They can handle some power just don't go crazy and clip them. You should be pleased with your purchase. Which set did you get, how much??

Hex's are some of my favorite speakers. They are great just give them lots and lots of power.

i got the s600 series....
power... should have plenty... Orion Xtr 800.4 can put out some power..
magnum... beside a busted spider landing...for the 5th time... the surround on the cone split... its now about 6 inches long.... i think its time to just "retire" this Mag...

is it one of the claw basket ones or the newer ones??
I hate to hear you had so many problems with it. I hope I don't run into any like that. How did you get the surround to split? just wear and tear? I'm going to have to keep a close eye on mine.

Yeah, its the older claw basket... it just split from wear and tear... over time i guess... no abuse.. except 1200rms on a daily basis.. i kept the gain turn all the way down .. but i dunno... i really liked the Magnum, but i did have alot of problems w/ it...
SI would have fixed the spinder landing.. it was covered under warranty, but i would have to pay to have it shipped their and back, and that would have been around 70$, when its a easy fixed... atleast should have been.... but o well.....but other than the spider landing and the surround ripping apart on me... i really liked the Mag.....
