Price will be around $400

Not too many specs have been released (that I know of) other than it will be a low Qts design for sealed applications only, Xmax 12+mm, 1.5" VC, 100w power handling

alot of "good" comps can tend to get expensive. but its usually worht it in the overall sound and accuracy IMO. remember though, there are always options, alot of less expensive comps could do you fine. all a matter of taste. unless you're going to be competing in SQ shows...

Oh, forgot to mention.......I don't know how many of you guys are familiar with Seas Excels (very highly regarded speakers), but at CES they did Klippel measurements of both the Excels and the XXX mids, and the XXX mids measured better than the Excels in just about every category :)

Rofl, people are already saying they'll be awsome, although they've never heard it. Guess this rather easily shows that a lot of the people here just bullshiet around, blindly following a company. Not saying that xxx comps will be bad or anything, but at least give them a listen before you call them awsome, eh ?

BTW, how much for those two subs in a bandpass squeak ? I'll give you $20.

ok so this is a slightly off-topic question but if i run comps in the front and coax's in the back how should i amp them? should i get a 4 channel or run the coax's off the HU and get a two? any thoughts are appreciated

RE has a much better IMAGE than Adire (well not counting the presidents...) IMO, I feel as though Adire could do much better with an image revamp, but then again it would probably end up being a clone of RE.

Someone should start a thread with only people who've USED or HEARD the XXX comps may apply and give their opinions, not people going off of image and hearsay giving theirs

not bad prices at all, im sure the XXX will be one crazy nice set with some serious midbass.

supraman

yea but the word is that the XXX's will need their own enclosure. i'm thinkin for 165 the RE's are a perfect budgeted comp set, especially if they have XBl^2

Why can't you wait until the speakers come OUT to have an opinion on them ? $425 is a lot for just a name.

LoL. Cause they're going to be the next hot topic of the forum... something has to bump this RE8 fad....

That's not a rumor either. That's straight from the horse's mouth. The XXX mids are designed to be used in an enclosure. IB would work, but performance would be less than stellar...........

Then why buy anything that's new?

Someone has to buy it, in order for someone else to hear about it....if we all sat back and waited....we wouldn't get too far, now would we?

I cannot comment on the XXX Components...but if I had the money, I'd buy em in a heartbeat, without hearing them. I've used enough RE woofers to know the kind of product I'm getting. :)

FYI: I was told around .1-.18 ft^3 sealed for the XXX mid...

$425 is for a pair right?

Do you know if they will be selling the midbass alone, looking into horns.

I'm sure i can get .2cuft in my door for them no prob.

i would go with something from ID, its really the easiest match since they are 2 ohm drivers, nice if u wana run a 4 channel amp.

I have a pair of Illusion Audio CH1 horns for sale ;) On par with or better than ID's CD2Comp horns (depending on who you talk to). Plus, they are pretty rare, less than 1000 pairs were made :)

But RE said they will not be selling the mids by themselves, atleast not at first. Maybe a few months after they are released they will start selling just the mids.
