FUNKBEAT MASTER.. I am glad to see that..EVERYONE sleeps on Infinity Kappa Perfects. I had 2 10's in my ride and as cliched as it may sound..CLOWNED the JL kids..CLOWNED THEM!
No one believes those speakers thump as hard as they do for an SQ sub

now I have the Certificate to prove SPL with Infinity's also
Can you post it? I want to see it. I doubt 4 12's sealed got that high, unless it's on an ollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllld mic.

I've been wrong before though...

I HIGHLY doubt it, Moe Lester and I sat in a truck with 8 W6 12's in ~12-15^3 wall and 4 1000/1's and it hit a 150.1 outlaw...But then again I could be wrong :smokin:

Even my old box could pull off mid 160s Outlaw on the New Termlab, but Outlaw means nothing. Dash is where it's at.

werd. or reality/headrest. IMO trickier to get the 1/4 wave to hit right there...

thank u for an responsable adult. That outlaw mean like 2 inches for the speaker or at the port. and one reason they we sleep on them is cus they are so quiet:evil:

How does the mic placement work for reality SPL/headrest SPL? Never been to an organization that does anything other than dash (DBDrag) or Outlaw (USACi).

And you're right, it's usually easier to get pressure to pool up on the dash than headrest or anywhere else that's not in a corner per say...

1/4 wave theory is crap :)

And BTW- there are NO results for dB Drag competitions in May from this show that he attended...

Do we know what org. held this competition?

Yeah. Good theory, doesn't work out well in car.

okay but right now in my current version of an install it sure does. '02 Trailblazer, 18" Stroker, 700 wrms, 6 cubes ported at 42hz both firing straight up at the ceiling.

Shot some **** a few days ago from the back seat (right next to box)... wondered why i could hear it (not feel it)... got back into driver seat to shut her down (had the amp gain remote in hand) and suddenly it FEELS much harder....

again. could just be the way i installed this puppy.

1/4 wave theory works out well in 2D, but in 3D in a car it is pretty useless. Too many reflections, too many stray waves that work into the equation because of those reflections, etc etc.

absolutely agreed, but again... it works. I have been trying to calc this out since i put the stroker in (~2weeks ago). havent found a good reason yet. i know the theory doesnt work and thats why it bugs me.... i DO like it as i sit in the front... but wtf

On the Image Dynamics Wesite they claim 2 Cheap ID12's with only 600 watts got a 151.0 DB reading at the DB world finals. I did not think breaking 150 was that impossible?

that was about 3 years ago when matt s. won street 1-2. He was using a Zapco 6.0 and two ID SPL 12s.

A 150 on the meter used at that time was very good, but today it's easy.

SINCE THEN,

we have swapped meters, and if you think a 150 is easy on this mic, you are about to get a VERY VERY harsh wake up call when you get on it.

As to a 156 legal on the new TL (all certified event are new TL and metering is done legal) from infinities...

**Achoooo!**

Wow I really am alergic to bullsh!t! :D

He was NOT on any new termlab thats for sure, I dont care if it was outlaw or not. If he was on the old mic or an AC I'd believe that score, but on the NEW tl, nope. There would be snowballs in hell first....

As case in point, he said the event was certified....well here are ALL the CURRENT certified resutls for dB Drag Racing. They dont go on here unless they are certified. And only Drag and MECA use the TL sensor

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/1/web/25000-25999/25876_278_full.jpg

so were is this 156.3?

Let's see he has 1/4 the power of david alafaro, using a sealed box to alafaro's crx box, and running SQ subs not even anything that loud....

Incidentally, the ONLY drag event in Washington FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR is THIS WEEKEND!!

And here it is!

A CERTIFIED db drag event THIS WEEKEND in Washington.

Prove me wrong. Go get it metered. 50 bux say you wont break a 150 legal.

http://www.termpro.com/asp/members2.asp?Who=13&MemberID=7036

When you don't, do not worry I wont rub it in, nor will anyone else. People get on the AC and think they are on the new TL all the time even though there is an 8+ dB difference. Heck if you want help breaking a 150, we'd be more than happy to help you to that....

No offense intended, but I am showing you why there is no way that was a 156.3 on the new TL. Old AC or Old TL and perhaps....

lol - now now, he might have enough disposable money to do that. I doubt it, but it's always possible. Just like how some rich folks down here have a stinkin '04 Viper and 1972 chevy pickup....

btw - who moderates this forum, I feel badly about the dB post....

I did a 149.6 on the AC....:)

That was with the doors and windows closed.

Shooting for any 140 number on the TL, possibly with a door open.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, that was with a single 10" ;)

What do you think outlaw is? Your doing ~146's on the TL legal, and mid-160's outlaw  ...
The dash is where its at when DbDrag has a show more than once a year :) .

soo, to bring this back up....
besides the energy bouncing off the interior of the windsheild and radiating 2 1/2 feet back to the driver headspace (but not the additional 10" into the rear seat)....

anyone come up with any reason 32-40 hz is not loud in the back seat of my wagon but is punsihing in the front seats?
The front seats are about ~7' from the radiating surfaces of the enclosure (in a non linear measurement)....
