Well, as some of you know I just installed an Alpine CDA-9831 deck. I have no problems with it what-so-ever. I did have to add a relay for my remote leads (amps and neons). Other than that, everything is good.
The SQ is great. Especially, after tuning the Time Correction with the iPersonalize feature online! This was great.
The Radio reception is great.
The output of SQ and SPL seems to be much better than previous decks.
The only thing I don't like, is the MP3 load times. I believe I have heard these decks seem to take several more seconds than other decks to load. Is this correct?
I am going to try to burn another MP3 disc off a brand new cd to see if that would help.
Anyone else has this problem?

Alpine has the fastest loading mp3 decks on the market. You might of just had a bad Mp3 CD.

YOU'RE NOT ALONE! I was about to post one of these soon. I have a 9830 I had for a couple weeks now and I feel the mp3 loads slow too. Some songs seem to load faster than others, but I hate to say it my old pos KEnwood loaded faster... I heard kenwoods have fast decoders though.... my alpine loads faster with just a regular cd compared to a mp3. And every once in a while when I switch sources it like freezes on my mp3 cd and won't play and won't respond to any commands. I have to take the cd out and put it back in...

By chance, I tried an older MP3 disc (one that I don't play too much) and it loaded so quick!
I do believe that it's just because the cd is scracthed up a bit. It's just my Kenwood doesn't have a problem with it. I already tried it in my girls car and it plays no probs after a few seconds. ;)
I am still going to get some new cd's to try it out.

I too have noticed that my CDA 9835 is a little laggy. I also had a CDA 7987, 2002 phatom face model and it was way faster that my new 9835.

What's funny is that the 9835 is there top HU out to date.
