Negative door locks have the switch on the negative side of the object
Positive door locks have the switch on the positive side of the object
Polarity doors locks, im not sure but i think you mean 5-wire locks, they use a common positive with 2 negatives

most cars have positive or negative
Mustangs have 5-wire
