First Box!!! (pics)

worked on this about 6 hours yesterday and i think it turned out pretty good...it's about 1.9 cu.ft. tuned to 32 hz for 2 sony xplods (shut up)...but this thread isnt about the subs its about the box so here's some pics

pics are kinda big but if u let them load completely it becomes smaller
really didnt have any problems makin it considerin it was the first time i had worked with mdf and i learned a few things about mdf
...it doesnt splinter it just turns into dust
...dont leave it out in direct sun cuz that **** likes to warp and fast
...make sure your pilot hole is longer than the screw and set your clutch on the drill very weak or your gonna split the wood<---did that the first 4 times
anyway i think it turned out pretty good...gonna put the speakers in today and see how she sounds...

well i ripped the boards the length of the box (56 in)... i cross cut the rest so i know everything is straight and no curves...for the angle on th edge of the board i used a disc sander and tilted the table to a degree cant remember which though and i got a real smooth edge there...jig saw for the holes and dremel...for the port its hard to believe this by the pics though but i used a jigsaw on it as well...i had the port all together and rubber malleted that thing in there caulked her up and put some wood filler in there...smooth as a babys booty on the top....

Looks pretty good man. I do have to agree though, the white caulk looks like somebody jizzed in your box :D It's on the inside though so who gives a rat's a$$ :)

the reason it looked like semen is because it applies white then when it starts to dry it starts to turn clear soooooo...any way i was gonn put the box in the truck and there's a ****in screw coming straight up out of the floor...so i got the hacksaw out and halfway thru the hacksay snaps...so it prolly wont be goin in.....today anyways

Thats a pretty small port, but sonys dont move much so you shouldnt get too much noise. Looks good :)

Ripping is when you cut with the grain, Crosscutting is when you cut against the grain, and you really cant do either with MDF, you kinda just cut it.

well when i meant rip i had a fence parallel with the blade and with crosscut i meant i had a fence perpendicular with the blade...and i dunno what brand jig, it was OLD but stillworked real good...except when the blade fell out once...lol
