View Full Version : I need a box built

just wondering who on this site builds custom boxes. I'm looking for a box to go between the seats of my '04 Dakota SXT buckets. I need it to be sealed, dual chambered to hold 2 RE 8s .217 Cubic Feet each that are bridged. Want the subs firing up, and needs to be shaped the same as the floor which is not flat unfortunately, and have the wiring facing the back of the cab. Would like it covered in black carpet. Went to a audio shop around here and they were gonna try to charge me $700.

Good lord, that's outrageous, especially for a shop that's likely equipped to crank them out quickly, and likely buys supplies in bulk... even when you factor in an outrageous per-hour rate...
Hey, where did this come from --> :*******: <-- lol, that's great...
OK, at any rate...
If you are interested, I would be more than glad to either help you design an enclosure for your truck to build yourself - or build one myself for you for a price that's WAY below that $700 highway robbery.
Since I'm such an IT geek (not really) I wrote my own software that lays out cut-sheets based on a set of variables (OK, I'm a geek  )...
...bottom line is, I'm building enclosures built to custom dimensions, to fit specific applications, like yours -
...and because of my software, it doesn't cost you any more than if I had a bunch of prefab plans to build to (as most other guys do it).
Let me know if you are interested... if it's essentially a rectangle, I'd do that for about $130, upholstered with nice carpeting.
I just put up a web page with more info on my boxes:
...and like I said, if you'd rather DIY it - I'm probably the world's biggest advocate of DIY car audio - I'd be glad to help you out there too!
Just PM me though, or move this thread to the "for sale" forum. ;)

The website I literally just put up yesterday... so there's probably some mistakes on it...
Let me know if anyone finds anything.

Hey need to build custom box and amp rack with plexiglass displays for my 01 jetta will pay someone to have a good one designed.
Phil from Woodlawn Cabinetry does some good work...
I had my spec built 12a box built by Chris, (OKMariner on CAF), and he did an excellent job on it - a good enough job, that as of now he's working on a box for two e12a's...does excellent work.
There are plenty of others out there.
