I'm not sure..they put up a cash pot and te boomstik was used on a table for a sorta driveby SPL ...you were suppose to keep all the windows sealed except drivers side.......I got beat out of the pot ...well over $100 by a local guy in a jeep with the soft top...air leaks from hell....I complained but it did no good...he was a local to the shop putting on the show

I recall someone around here using a Boomstick, not sure if it's the same one you saw, but it only registered up to 140db and it said this one was was at a 139 and when he was metered on a TL he was only at 133. Pretty much as accurate as the old AC180 stick meters.

That number looks good for that set up. A much bigger port would get you a lot louder. There's a guy around here that competes in my shows with an Olds Cutless, four 15" T3 TSNS's and four of the MA Audio HK4000D's thats been doing 159-160. He was doing 57's last year when he had less power, pretty much like what you have.

Actually thats a really good number, considering he's got a pair of 18's in the trunk. A box that big would leave almost no room for the sound waves to move around and enter the cabin, or reach the sensor very well.

Maybe I should have read his sig better, I thought he had this in a trunk not a wall. For that limited power I guess it's not bad. But for a pair of 18's in a wall on 16V I'd think it would be a little louder than that. I'm assuming this was with the seats in too, that will hurt the score a bit.

First round it'll do a 143 or so, second round would be a 150+, third round should be around the same if the rules are the same as this year at sbn.

Well in flyweight I don't think I saw anyone get over a 147 in any round.

First round it'll do a 143 or so, second round would be a 150+, third round should be around the same if the rules are the same as this year at sbn.

you didnt see the guy with the golf james toombs? i think scott s has vids on his photobucket. did like a 147.4 sealed and i think about a 147 door open

Don't like doing streetbeat at the house because of how loud it is for 30 seconds. Burps are quick. :)

I did streetbeat at the maxxsonics show and finished with a 150.6, so with this box it should be closer to a 151 even. The same goes for bassboxing.

Were you testing round 3 with people in the passenger door or just wide open?

Also remember that I'm only using a single 10". Single 12" should be good for another dB or so on top of those scores. :)

Single 12" predictions for myself would be this

Round 1: 146
Round 2: 151.5
Round 3: 144 (with nobody in the door) or 150 (people in the door)

Round 3 is the real tossup.

Whats he running in that golf anyways?

6 135Amphr cells
200A ex voltage regulator adjustable from 8 to 20v
2 runs of 4/0 from the alt directly to the back cells.
1 hifonics goliath xx wired at 1 ohm

Ok I will rephrase it to this.. I am not worried how loud I can/do/would get outside my car.. if thats your competition and you do good at it.. Congrats.. I would Rather try to make it as quiet as possible outside.. which is what I do.. try to eliminate all possible rattles.. and seal my car nicely.. do you have a vid of your drive by or even just your car?

Might need to post along with everything else if you're SPL is strictly SPL or daily driver.

For true SPL set ups, most everybody is tuned to low. IE in the 30's. For pure SPL you want to tune way higher, IE in the 60's.
