View Full Version : CL-61 tweeters hissing

Hey guys I need your help a bit. I finally installed my CDT Cl-61a in my doors and they are being powered by JBL 180.2 amp. I played a couple of sounds but on a lot of them I hear a significant "ssss" sound coming from the tweeters. Any ideas. It's not engine whine I don't think.

Also there's a chance that I plugged in the wrong speaker into th crossovers (ie. tweets into MIDs + and -), but I doubt it.

So any ideas? Thank you in advance.

If you try everything and nothing works, it could boil down to just a dirty amp. Is it one of the pyramid/lego looking JBLs? Those are great for the money and do the job, but exacting quality is not necessarily there and even on higher end amps, sometimes you get a dirty one. Maybe borrow an amp from a friend to see if it goes away.
