I'm thinking of going with a 2.5 cube box @ 28 hz for my IDMAX12 v3. It'll be 17x 24 x 15.5. This will be my first real jaunt into car audio, just wanted to check to make sure everything sounds good before I start making it. So, the box sounds like it'll work well with the IDMAX 12 v3 ? Thanks for any input.

EDIT: 2.5 cubes after displacement/bracing.

If you have the plans on how to make it and they're correct, it should sound great. What kind of amp are you using?

I plan on using a Hifonics bx1500d. Hopefully it should power it nicely at 1 ohm :)

As far as the plans go, I used some of the calculators on the bcae1 site to figure out the needed dimensions. Doublechecked all my calculations with my human calculator, AKA my girlfriend ;)

should sound sweet. as my sig says i have mine in a 2.4 tuned to 33-35hz (didn't cut pipes perfectly straight) and the best way to describe it is "a f**king sledgehammer" also sound really good to when i play music that allows the sq of a sub to show. Nobody believes i only have 1 12" OT is why you see so many celeb installs with audiobahn about 95% of the music played on these systems is rap and it doesn't take that much sq ability to play rap good because most of the bass is supposed to "boom" in the first place

Ive heard that you really shouldnt send much more than the RMS to the IDMAX, the brutus 1500 may be a bit much on it. That box will be awesome for the sub though.

Actually, I think I might end up going with the brutus 1000, it's a bit cheaper, and your right, I don't think it really should get more than the RMS.

Now I just gotta figure out the port length and make the final diagram.

Uh, used a calculator... I'm actually quite a fscking moron, as I never factored in the port at all... Doh. I figured out I wanted it to be tuned to 28 hz, but I never figured out the port length or anything. Argh. So, back to the drawing board, I gotta figure out the port length, etc.
