well thats the manufactuer's best test result most likely so try it out and then try out different sizes to see which you like better.....just email the company and ask about an enclosure design for SPL only

Use as much port as your subs cone area....12" = 80sq"

i believe for SPL purposes, the 40-48hz range is loudest for ports..
but that large port also comes with a large box..say 5+cu

Well the cone on a woofer will move the most on a 45hz tone...But as far as whats loudest tune close to the resonant freq. (of your install, not the car!!!)(Use the search option on that) and then burp about an 1/8 octave from there.

Like I said, if your going for SPL the port being as big as the amount of cone area is a good place to start. Every car is different even the same make and model can be louder than the other. Build according to what the specific vehicle likes.

nono, most people do multiple test with varoius enclosures to figure out what is the loudest one possible, but it usually goes as anything above 5+ cu is going to be an spl enclosure, unless you have like 18's..

hmm not quite sure. cone area of a 12" circular sub is 113 square inches. for 1 12" sub u only need 30-50 square inches, unless u r going strickly spl which 60 would do for that.
