the title pretty much says it all
well.. heres the story, i'm getting a new CD unit for my car, and they are giving free speakers, the Dual 6-1/2 Dual-Cone Car Speakers with Polypropylene Cone (Pair)

Model: XP65

obviously they are not top notch, but still, free is free, so i was wondering though,
if i should change the speakers, or keep my original stock speakers (toyota camry 1998)

thanx, btw, wat is a good CD unit to buy? something between 150 to 200, i'm looking at this kenwood one thats pretty good, but wat else is good?

the duals probably are better... the stock speakers are pretty garbage... whats the power ratings on the duals?

these are the features
Handles up to 90 watts peak power (30 watts RMS)

Low profile ABS grille

Black satin anodized injection-molded polypropylene cone for low distortion and powerful bass response

Black foam surround

11-ounce magnet

.100/.187 terminal strip

but the problem... i dont konw the features on my camry, well, the sound is pretty good, so i dunno, maybe i'll save a few extra bucks and keep my originals

hmm. this is tough.

it's like asking if you'd rather get smashed in the head with a dictionary or phone book...

Camry factory speakers are 15w PEAK. So that leads me to believe the Duals are in fact better. Also, remember the stock speakers don't have a tweeter at all. (unless you have premium sound system then I don't know.)

I'd probably stick with the stocks. And buy online...figure out a way.

I wouldn't waste my time putting in the Duals. It's not that much of an improvement.

Keep the stock speakers, sell the duals for $5 and put that twards buying some nice components.

lmao...there's a lot of truth to that.

Phone book is paperback, dictionary is hardcover. I think we know which we'd rather be hit by.

if they're gonna be free, get 'em anyway; then, either sell them for "cheap" (up to your discretion) or keep them for backup. (backup in the sense that your "real" speakers are blown and now you have nothing cause you didn't keep the dammn free speakers)
