Well Im building a ported box like the one below for a magnum 15" My question is how should I run the wires in this box? Everyone runs the wire thru the port but I have a very very long port. Is there any reason why people do that or can I just put in wire connectors say on the left side wall? Would that cause any noise? Thanks

As long as the terminal box is sturdy and you seal around it, that is the best way to do it. I have in the past just drilled a hole in the side of the box, run the wires and then sealed the wire into the hole with hot glue with very good results.

Yea, get Terminals from partsexpress.

U then use a banana plug for the high quality ones to connect the amp to the terminal wich is connected to the sub.

I use two 1/4" brass bolts with nuts on the outside, to tighten the bolt down, and then a wing nut on the outside to hold down the wire.

How important is it that you get a tight seal around the wires? Say there is like room around the wires from where you drilled. Is there a noticable effect?

Yes, that would be an airleak, and depending on the size could affect performance drastically, it isn't too time consuming to hot glue it shut...

yeah i am, I just wanted to stay away from big cut out terminals, like you said 1/4" plastic vs. 3/4 " mdf, plastic is weak spot

Its cheaper just to get longer wires n less work to do it also.
