Just purchased a RF Punch HE2 10" (http://www.cardomain.com/item/ROCRFP4110) and need help with a box.

I don't have tools or space available to me to build a box, so I need to buy one. I'll be running the full 400 watts to the sub. Which type of box (ported, sealed) and approximate cubit feet should I be looking for?

I was looking on eBay and found this ported (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5703282344&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1) box tuning @ 36 Hz, 1.3 cu. ft. that looked descend, but I have no clue what would be good for this sub.

Thanks!

that's a pretty good deal. however, the shipping will get you. build quality looks good. the box will work with your sub.

Thanks.

$50-$60 seems to be about the price after shipping I'm going to pay either threw eBay our sounddomain.

Will this sub sound better in a ported enclosure? I have always used ported myself, but each sub is different and I have always had a shop around to work with. All of my local shops have closed in the last few years due to BestBuy and Circuit Cities moving into the area and people not understanding the difference between Jenson and JL... lol, so now I don't have any help... kind of a bummer.

Jmac is correct, I believe that it would turn out to be closer to .9 cubes after all displacements.

Jmac,

I actually PM'd you about a custom box. You just design them and not build them huh? I used to have a bud that knew CAD and designed all my old boxes, but that was 4+ years ago and things have changed.

I'll also email the guy about the dimensions of the eBay box.

Thanks!

i took driver displacement into cosideration. according to the link posted in the original message, the required port box dimensions are 0.75 - 1.75 cu.ft. however, i didn't take port displacement into consideration. thanks for looking out jmac.

Thank you guys so much. Really I'm looking for a buy this and you will be happy ;). I understand that a box needs to be X & X cubic feet (larger requires less power correct?) and that it needs to be tuned, but I myself was never good at figuring this info out (anyone with a link to the formula), I'm much more the electrical guy then the box builder guy.

So ideally then this is to small? Space is not a problem as I am doing a single sub. This one (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5702930432&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1) is slightly different, and I like how it is wider, but I worry about thespeaker mounting depth. 1.05 cu. ft., port volume: 0.229 cu. ft., dimensions: 19" W x 11" D x 12.5" H.

Anyone know of a good box builder for a descent price that I could just give trunk dimension to and have them build me a box?

LOL I knew it was coming ;)

You know the sub and watts I'm running. The sub will go in a 99 Tiburon, daily driver. Ideally the box needs to be 36" wide (keep it from moving side to side). It has to be deep enough for the sub and can not be more than 14" high.

Thatís ideally, sound is priority so if a deeper and not as wide box is required its cool.

PM me with what kind of price are we talking with carpet?

truck bed liner. definitely recommend it the enclosure is going to take a beating. not only is it durable, but it looks extrememly nice.

Just to let you know, it seems like its gonna rain all week :( If you wanna get the box sooner, you might wanna have someone else build it, ill be delayed about a week or so.
