This build will be a little different than what most people do. Im building a folded horn for the DD 600 series 10". This box is a 7' horn path and should yield some good results. The goal here is to have some clean sound and have some decent output on low power. Not to mention ill have about 50$ in the box build after its all said and done:). This is a low budget build the amp is a kicker zx500.1 i got on the forum for 60$ shipped. Heres the build.

Got it all laid out and im giving the thumbs up of approval haha.

So last night was semi productive. We got some paint in the port, some bracing up, and the last wall.

Pretty much what is left is another brace in the wide opening, The sub mounting, More paint, the top, and 2" legs. Should be able to have it playing in a few days still waiting on sub:)

Nice work there.........

TY!

Hope to get it playing soon and let yall know how she does. My friend had a similar setup with a jbl8 and less power and it was still pretty impressive.

Very nice. Interested to see what results you get. I have been interested in folded horns for a while. From what I've read, they should yield good results when they are smaller, big large ones in a vehicle aren't so great.

Looks very nice! I had a little 8" in a folded horn and for 150W RMS it got loud and sounded great.

They do get pretty loud for what they are and sound clean. My buddy is running a jbl gto10 in a 36x30x24 or something weird like that on a POS power acoustik amp and it gets stupid. Steering wheel flopping all around its crazy to think its 1 10.

If your up near austin sometime give me a holller ill be playing by friday at the latest.

So i only got to mess with this for about 15 minutes this morning. No DD1 set the amp just over half gain and set the xover to about 80. Played some decaf and 32ish + this thing gets down decently. Ill see what happens once the sub isnt so stiff.

That brace is pretty bitchin. Shoulda painted it a different color before you put it in though! Black, or maybe white.

I'll paint it black. Friend forgot to bring some left over paint he had and we wanted to get it playing :(. I'll go to town with some painters tape and a brush soon haha. So far tho we are happy with the results. Need to snag a dd1 and tune this thing. The sub seems to be laughing at my amp

Thought i would update as ive had a few days of playtime on this thing. Its not a SPL monster but still has impressive output. The sub is laughing at the kicker 500 though. Right now i have the box on 2" legs with sub firing down and port to driver side. I need to play with box positioning and maybe i can get it louder. It plays a wide range of frequencies well. On decaf it plays 28hz no problem and gets my windshield moving a bit. Then on pink floyd or gin blossoms ( clean tight bass btw) it sounds amazing.

Overall im happy with this. 60$ for the amp and if you add the amp, sub and all mats used to build box, Im under 200$. Dont think i could beat the output and clarity of this for that price any other way.
