View Full Version : Lots of subs! JL W7, old school JBL GTi, AudioQue HD, TC OEM and more

Ok guys, round 3 of the ClinesSelect selloff has arrived. For those who don't know or didn't see the previous FS threads, Dave is a local friend of mine and has asked me to assist in selling off his quite sizable and impressive stash of goodies. I picked up a load of drivers from him yesterday and will be grabbing some more next week. I will post pics of what I have, and attempt to post a comprehensive list with pricing. Please be patient as there is a lot of gear.

1. CDT Audio EF-8 Carbon Fiber Subwoofer (x2)
2. JL Audio 8IB4 (x2)
3. Peerless HDS/XLS 830491 8" woofers (x2)
4. Audioque HD10/DD 9510 10" subwoofer, dual 2 ohm coils (x1)
5. JL Audio 12W7 (x1)
6. TC Sounds OEM 10 (x2)
7. JBL 1800GTi (x1)
8. JBL 1500GTi (x2)
9. JBL 1500GTi OEM Recone Kit (x1)
10. JBL 1200GTi (x1)
11. JBL 1000GTi (x1)

In addition to these listed above, I will be picking up the following next week:

Old Type R 10
PPI flat 12 single 4
Old school CV stoker 12 in box
Three USD 15pro B in original boxes
Original AA Avalance with a small repair to the surround, works fine with carbon fiber flat dustcap
BNIB RE MT10 old school version
Two old Orion XTR 12s in great condition
Two Dayton 8 mids
...and a few others.

We are still working on pricing for these drivers. If you see something you want off that list, please let me know and I will try to get a price worked out before next week.

Condition of all items:

All coils have been measured and everything sits as it should. Everything is 10/10 functionally. Cosmetically, they vary slightly, but all drivers are in excellent condition. They all have very little play time.

1. CDT EF-8: 9/10 cosmetic
2. JL 8IB4: 9/10 cosmetic. These are in beautiful shape- rare to see them this pristine. Slight scratches to the back of the motor. Cone and dustcap are flawless.
3. Peerless 8s: 8.5/10 cosmetic. Some residue around the back of the basket, but I cleaned them up pretty good. Overall great condition.
4. Audioque HD10: 9/10 cosmetic. There was a lot of debate surrounding these when they were made. This woofer is essentially a Digital Designs 9510. I have an email from DJ regarding the manufacturing process when he and Dave first communicated. The box it was originally shipped in even said Digital Designs on it, which was crossed out with Audioque written above it. :D This thing is a beast and heavier than a dying star.
5. JL 12W7: BNIB 10/10, original factory packaging
6. TC Sounds OEM 10s: 9/10- MINT
7. 1800GTi: 7/10. Some cone sag and not in the greatest cosmetic shape but functional and rare.
8. 1500GTis: 9.5/10. If it weren't for some mild markings around the mounting holes, these would be BNIB. Absolutely flawless condition.
9. 1500GTi Recone Kit: BNIB obviously 10/10
10. 1200GTi: 8.5/10. Great shape. 10/10 functional
11. 1000GTi: 8/10. Good condition. Fading on the dustcap but fully functional.

Because these are drivers and some of them are very heavy and will require additional packaging/insulation, all the prices will be 'plus actual shipping.' Most of the smaller woofers/midbass pair should range between $18-$35 depending on how far from AZ you live. Feel free to PM me for a quote but please take that as a general rule. The 3 subwoofers will be substantially more as they are incredibly heavy. Pricing:

1. CDT 8s- $100 plus actual shipping/pr
2. JL 8IB4- $150 plus actual shipping/pr
3. Peerless XLS/HDS 8s- $140 plus actual shipping/pr.
4. AQ HD10- $275 plus actual shipping
5. JL 12W7- $475 plus actual shipping
6. TC OEM 10s- $300 plus actual shipping/pair
7. 1800GTi- $135 plus actual shipping
8. 1500GTi- $150 plus actual shipping/each
9. 1500GTi Recone kit- $95 plus shipping
10. 1200GTi- $125 plus actual shipping
11. 1000GTi- $100 plus actual shipping

Shipping Terms: :

Shipping quotes are available upon request. As stated above, shipping on most of the 8" midbass pair should range between $18-35 in the ConUS, depending on how far from AZ you live. If you live outside the US, it will probably be substantially higher due to the weight. The subwoofers will also cost quite a bit to package and ship. Everything will be shipped via FedEx Ground/Home Delivery, and will come with insurance for the full purchase amount, plus tracking information and Direct Signature. I am meticulous about my packaging as I am a buyer just as much as a seller, and want to make sure you receive your items in the shape I sent them in. Nothing is more discouraging than to have waited all week for your new toys to arrive, only to find them packaged like **** and damaged or broken.

(List pictures in this section, 1st picture should be your username/date if you have less than 10 positive feedbacks with the i-Trader system or less than 10 references that you have sold to in the past. (These must be listed in your signature, or a link provided to a feedback thread listing these references)).

All coils measure as they should.

Additional info:

As I have not used many of these personally, I don't know a great deal about them, so asking me what enclosure X speaker performs best in, or how much power to feed Y, will not yield much of a helpful response from me. Dave/myself are not looking for any trades; just cash. PayPal is preferred, or I would be elated to do a local cash deal, especially on the heavier stuff. My email is [email protected] or you can contact me via PM here with any questions or offers. Thank you again for looking. More pictures continued below:

1800GTi appears to have some moderate cone sag, and was stored upside down prior to Dave purchasing it and has some indentations in the foam surround. This isn't in the greatest shape but it's functional and extremely hard to find. If it doesn't sell, I'll probably threaten to build a home sub out of it!

1500GTi (x2). These are absolutely gorgeous. If there weren't little washers in the mounting holes, I would've thought they were both BNIB. Flawless:

JL 12W7 (x1) BNIB. Nothing to say here. We all know what this is. This is as far out of the box as I'm going to take it. My back hates me after carrying all this stuff down the stairs.

Also, FWIW, I know a lot of this stuff is fairly rare/hard to come by these days, and a lot of the drivers are massive, and not in factory packaging. So, I wanted to post a few pics outlining how I pack what I ship, so any buyers are confident that their purchases will not be ruined (to the extent I can control this). I am shipping out some Brahmas today, so this is a picture of one of them.

For the subs, I start off with a heavy duty cardboard box. These have an 80lb weight limit and edge crush test of 42lbs/inch:

http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg218/mikey7182/D02EF371-FB6E-42A0-A69A-8FF9EBAB6A78_zpsmzfngoir.jpg (http://s249.photobucket.com/user/mikey7182/media/D02EF371-FB6E-42A0-A69A-8FF9EBAB6A78_zpsmzfngoir.jpg.html)

I wrap the driver in bubble wrap over the cone and motor several layers thick, and then around the side of the driver several layers as well, and tape everything tight:[/B]

http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg218/mikey7182/A5737C89-E71D-438F-BC0D-23533004AE04_zps0pnh4wjf.jpg (http://s249.photobucket.com/user/mikey7182/media/A5737C89-E71D-438F-BC0D-23533004AE04_zps0pnh4wjf.jpg.html)

I then use a 3/4" thick styrofoam liner for the bottom, top, and sides:

I use crumpled butcher/masking paper for filler, to add cushion and keep the driver from shifting:

http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg218/mikey7182/75FDFD30-B52D-4C4C-9B6A-DF4F5300AFD1_zps64bzmbrr.jpg (http://s249.photobucket.com/user/mikey7182/media/75FDFD30-B52D-4C4C-9B6A-DF4F5300AFD1_zps64bzmbrr.jpg.html)

Then another layer on top between the cone and the top styrofoam:

Then capped off:

I don't see a lot of pics regarding shipping/packing, so I wanted to share. I remember once I bought a TS-W12PRS which was discontinued and very hard to find, and the seller basically tossed it in a cardboard box with some newspaper and it arrived with a cracked frame and a hole in the cone. I couldn't believe it. At any rate, please be confident that I take the time and spend the money to make sure if you buy something from me, that it has the best chance possible to arrive safely.

Ha hear I am 2 days ago talking about how you never see the older AQ HD subs for sale and poof, up pops one. Wish I had money/use for it. GLWS op

How would the 1500GTi's sound in 4.25 per @ 28Hz?

JBL recommends 2.86cf tuned to 39hz, and I believe that is gross volume so including port and driver displacement. These have an Fs of 35hz and not a ton of xmax, so a low tune like that might not be the best, and that enclosure size might be a bit large. I ran one in a little over 3cf tuned to 35hz a few years back and it is probably the best woofer I've ever heard in terms of accuracy/sound quality.

The pair I have now are actually pending sale locally this evening. The recone kit I have can be used to recone a blown one or a JBL 2226 (baskets for those can be found for pennies all day long) since they use the same motor/hard parts. These aren't SPL woofers but god do they sound great, and they'll still get loud if you want them to.

Of course, as soon as I ordered a brand spankin new Fi Q12, some beautiful 10" tc oem's are being sold. Those would have been the same amount I spent on my Q.
