Howdy all,

Here is another exclusive opportunity for CarAudio community. Like in the past, we are looking for a few community members to test and review our next level subs (10" & 12") and marine speakers.

Samples:
VM Audio Encore 12-Inch High Excursion Subwoofer | ECW120 : VM-ECW120 : VMInnovations.com (http://vminnovations.com/Product_56160/VM-Audio-Encore-12-Inch-High-Excursion-Subwoofer-ECW120.html)

VM Audio 10-Inch Competition Marine Subwoofer | EXMW10 : VM-EXMW10 : VMInnovations.com (http://vminnovations.com/Product_56145/VM-Audio-10-Inch-Competition-Marine-Subwoofer-EXMW10.html)

The product will be sent to you FREE of charge, we just need your opinion as a user. If you've written product reviews before, either on VMInnovations.com or elsewhere that's a plus. If you participated in the past, and actually followed up and posted a review please let me know.

That means in order to test the product, you'll need an amp and other accessories that generally needed to test out a sub.

If interested please comment below saying "interested" and email the following info to [email protected]:

1. Your CarAudio user name
2. Your shipping address (including your name)
3. Agree to post your review within 10 days of product arrival
Bonus points: note whether submitted reviews in the past, picture or specs of current setup.

We'll try to ship the products Feb 5th or so once all the interested members email us.

Will be popping in and out to answer any questions. More product details will be shared in the email as well.

Cheers,
Lucky@VMI

i did a review on the lower end subs and was impressed with the bump they had. still using them until the next setup goes in. would be really nice to test out the encore series. they seem beefy and a nice budget sub for a good amount of bass/performance.
thanks for all these opportunities.

Just got my sub in. Very nice man. I was really surprised when I went to pick it up. Was a lot heavier than I was anticipating. The last ones were so lightweight, I expected the same. This one 10 seems like it weighs the same as the 2 12's I received last time. The basket is a lot thicker than I thought it would be for it being stamped steel. Actually has a pretty **** decent looking coil also. So far the one weak point I see in it that will keep it from running the stated rms wattage is the tinsel leads. They are pretty small. Only a single one for each coil. The are above the spider for about half way to the coil then go below it. Will be doing a much better review this weekend. Just my first impressions of what I see. Way more excited about reviewing these than I was the last ones. I'm guessing it'll take about a good 7-800 before it starts reaching mechanical and thermal limits

I got my EXW-15 today. Had everything ready to go so It was bumpin in 10 minutes. Going to start working on a nice review after I have a bit more time on it. From the amount of time I played with it today it seems like a pretty decent budget sub. Has some weight to it. Sounds good & gets loud from 38ish hz up. Doesn't really seem to like much under that. 800 watts +/- seemed like a bit more then I would want to give it daily. Overall not a bad budget sub.

Ok guys got home to unpackage the elux 15 i just received. I was surprised at the weight at least double the weight of the last sub i reviewed. Well it was double boxed no damage to the sub. Took her out and digging the grey cone much better than the shiny black one on the shaker series. Did not like the huge magnet cover or the thin wispy leads. Im a little excited to test this sub. Got some up skirt shots of this bish to if i can get them on Photobucket.

Had a litte bit of play time with the Elux 12 . Not ready for a full review but thought I would share my initial impressions. Packaging was excellent. Essentially triple boxed. I like the looks of the sub from the front although I am not a fan of the plastic beauty ring. The frame is much sturdier than the SRW12 that I received previously but I still don't care for the looks or design of it. The edges are sharp and it is a bit awkward finding a good spot to grab it from. Plenty sturdy though and it will be inside the enclosure in my install so its not a huge concern. Just seems like some money could have been saved by using an off the shelf frame design that is a bit more user friendly. The sub has two sets of push terminals that easily accept 12 gauge wire and maybe even something a tad bigger. Motor isnt huge by any means but the sub has a little weight to it . Definitely beefier than the SRW subs. I am doing my initial listening test in a 1.75 cubic foot enclosure tuned to 35 hz with a 4" aero port. I listened to a few of my favorite tracks of various genres and the sub did a good job with most of them. It also got suprisingly loud. For what it is so far I am liking it. Has a real nice sound to it and good output for sub in the 60-70 dollar range.

copied and pasted from my vm and amazon review: I was sent one of these to write a review, and after playing with it for a week here are my impressions:

I also own a pair of the lower quality VM Audio subs to compare. These have a larger surround than I was expecting. However it seems to be rubber just like the lower quality ones, so in freezing temperatures these will more than likely seize until it warms up(reminds me to update those reviews). With the large surround and loose spider, the sub has quite a bit of excursion. I swapped it with a Type R I had and it seemed to handle my 1k rms @ 2 ohms worst than the R, but I only tried ~1.3 cuft sealed. I was suprised how well they did sound, plenty of punch and have a pretty flat response.

The magnet does look like it's in a boot, and I would rate this sub closer to 800 than the current rating. They also upgraded to a harder metal basket which was a big con of the lower model. However I noticed for the removable plastic ring around the surround isn't mounted, and the drywall screws I used had to bore the hole some to actually fit.

Overall, It's a decent quality subwoofer. If this is the max in your budget and have the power to make it useful, do so. And if you live in a cold climate, I'd look for ones with a foam surround.

My review I posted on vm's website
well first off let me say i received this sub to test. on arrival package was well secured with double boxing and plenty of protection for the sub. i will say the basket design could be alittle better but is alot stronger than their low end vr subs which i have tested as well. I love the big surround on sub as well as the push connect post. one thing that could be improved on from the post side is the subwoofer leads...they seem alittle small imo. now as far as performance, this sub has great punch. i have it paired up with a mb quart onx1.1600d amp wired at 2 ohms(1100w rms) and the sub loves the rating. i would say about 700-800w rms all day for this budget of a sub. pair this sub up with another and you have yourself a great budget bass setup that will perform with a punch. i tried the sub out with different types of music and will say it didnt really like the higher fq of bass...it picked up the low ends pretty well. the box i have is tuned around 32-33hz and like i said has great deep punch. in the end if you are on a budget and looking to run a pair of subs that will delievery imo clean deep bass for the price, you cant go wrong with the elux series. VmI is stepping up with each sub they release.

My review I posted on both sites.
I was sent this sub to test out. I was happy to see it quickly shipped and arrived via FED-EX but it was beat up badly the trim ring was crushed and the frame was bent. I notified VM and within a few mins I received an email telling me another sub was on the way along with a return auth and label. AWESOME!!! service. 2 Days later the replacement arrived and I must say for the price I was thoroughly impressed with the build quality for the price point. I already had a 3.3 cubic foot sealed box built and quickly and easily installed it with the included screws. I ran this single 15 in my Volvo wagon on a APSM 1500 amp and I am happy to report it preformed way above what you would expect for the price. On rock tracks it was tight and punchy and kept up with no issues. I then played some bass tracks and again I was impressed it really shined in the 35-45hz range with very healthy extension down to 25hz. I was running about 800 watts to the sub and it never had any issues with bottoming out. I would absolutely recommend this sub to anyone on a tight budget who wants top notch bang for the buck. Thanks for letting me test this sub VM Innovations you guys are great!

I had the 15 ported for a while. got loosened up and wanged hard on very little power. my box was built with low tuning for a totally different beast but this sub hopped in and sounds good. My review has been on both sites for a while now. Hope to test more equipment in the future! Thanks again Lucky!
