Well I am Getting somewhat done with my old truck(work truck) Its a 98 GMC est cab. Let me start with that I used to be into car audio back in the day and I am 52 now and was out of it for the last 25 years. One day my stock deck died so i went to Wallyworld bought a cheap deck and dash and wiring kit and installed it . It all went down hill from there lol I kinda thought it would, stock speakers -one was blown so i bought some polk audio replacements then a new JVC head unit and a clairion EQS 746 and a 250w amp and a 10" kicker sub and then it changed amps to 500w then 1000w then 1500w and two c2Audio threatcons 12" s in an uderseat sealed box then a Mike Singer 280 Amp alt with two Agm Battery's 6 runs of 0 gauge big 3 on both battery's added Cdt hd 62 as comps and 400.4 amp for them and then bought a Power bass 5000d amp from Silerado ss I met here. He is a big help in picking out products-lots of knowledge for a youg buck lol. (I am only running at 2 ohms for now and its a little much for he threatcons 12" but there pretty tough) Then I Let him talk me into removing the back seats and buying a 18" Fi Team on the black fri sale, It was a huge savings.
Then I had Buck design a box for it- Another big help he walked me through it and designed a cool huge 7 cube flare port box tuned at 30.5 hz and will be building it in the next week or two. Well The Fi team 18" came in Fri OMG What was I thinking This thing is huge and weighs about 90 lbs ! I think this thing may blow my old truck apart! LOL . Here are some pics and will add more as I build box and Get it all Installed. Some of the pics are old and with old equip.

Looks good where did you get the fuse blocks if you dont mind me asking.

and yea alot of us young bucks that truely love audio have stepped up to the plate hopefully carrying on the hobby to the next generation to follow. Down here in the south lot of young guys want bass but dont have a clue so ive actually went to the local schools and asked if I could give a short course for shop based and electronics classes I was turned down by a few schools but I have made 3 presentations so far and I feel ive at least helped a little. Explaining theile small, ohms law, hoffmans iron law, ohm loads, relays, box design and building basics, and above all safety needed to install and how respecting others will not only help prevent ticket but also help keep the industry alive. I only talk for a day sometimes two but while I dont know everything I do try and touch on the basics.

it actually suprising when a young guy chimes in a helps explain with me.

www.vteworld.com Ultra high quality and those cost about 5.00 and come with the boots and the maxi fuses cost about a dollar each I think those fuse holders are rated @ 500 amps and are ten time the quality all the car audio jokers are selling 10times the price, only thing is they are not sealed so I am building i alum plate for 4 of them to bolt to and a cover in the engine bay but for now i just shrink tubed them to keep water off them, Also check out Toolmaker he makes a nice Fuse block - looks reall nice here is a pic of it

Can you get me a part number off the batteries? If it was a .75 reactive load id say around 6,000 plus but I cant say for sure because of not knowing the actual reactive load

You are definitely going to need more batteries. If you buy the same ones you have now, then at least 2 more maybe 3. They are 55ah each so you have about 110ah now.

I use the odyssey 2150 batts in mine. Also yes I built a false floor for the box to sit on and then I screw the box down to the false floor and the back self. Seems to work good

I would do that. Look for batteries with high ah ratings. I would try to get around 300ah all together.

Ya But I screwed up when i installed them I didnt think the mids would clear the doors windows so i put spacers under them and cut the round tube like projections off the back of door panels so they would clear and they still wouldnt allow door panels to clip back down tight . Then I found that they would clear without the spacers so now i have to figure out a way to seal them back to the door panels so all the sound is not trapped between the doors and the panels. I have another set of door panels but vinyl in crap so maybe cut off the bottom plastics where thy seem together and somehow put them back on mine originals ? any ideas ?

Yea, they can get down and dirty when needed ... and still give nice rich dynamic sound ...

Three layers of 3/4" mdf, 1/4" mdf for the piece that wedges against the door pannel ... and a 8" grille ...

http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/3/482/1929/26203464094_large.jpg

Wish you was closer, I'd give this set up to you (well, not the drivers or the grilles) cause I'm changing mine up to 8" drivers soon ...
I will be working my doors "double duty" ... they will work as my midbass and sub bass drivers ... I will not be running subs this Sound Quality competition season ...

gonna mess with some folk's minds ... LOL

Actually, it matched up to the exact angle of the origional drivers ... So the angle you see in the pic is stock, just extended out past the door panel ...

making trim rings is easy ... the only real hard part with this upgrade is to be careful when cutting your door panels and not cut too much so the outer ring can cover the cuts ... also doing it this way makes it easy if you ever wanted to sharpen up your fiberglassing skills ...

I see so the the hole in door panel goes around the rings and the 1/4 covers the door panels and screws down to 3/4 mdf so door 3/4 3/4 3/4 doorpanel 1/4 and grill right ?

But in all honnestly ... With your amount of sub bass ... Wait until I measure out and build my upgrade to a single 8" driver in each door and I will be glad to give you all of the details for upgraded midbass ...
I will be starting this project immediately after the hollidays ...

I gotta get it done early so I can watch Green Bay Beat up on the Bears at 3:30 lol.
