Introducing Ultras new line. The ALV series. With the price point of $160 shipped it is comparable to all of the big brands. Nothing quite sounds like an Ultra sub though. Anyways here are a few specs for ya!

F(s) = 52hz
Q(ms) = 4.75
V(as) = 4.48 L M(ms) =109.9972 g R(e) =4.00
Q(es) =0.4993
SPL = 83.16 dbSPL 1W/1m C(ms) = 0.0835 mm/N Z(max) = 42.0743 ohms Q(ts) =0.45
L(e) = 2.88 mH

Thats what I have been hearing. Its meant to be an SQL sub. The best of both worlds lol

Well a lower fs and le just means to sub can play lower and still keep a tight sound with out much power. High le can be over come with more power and high fs can be beat with a good box design but having both a low fs and le to begin with makes things alot easier when going for sq or sql

That is an 8" sub, so the Fs makes sense.

Yea it does I just like under hung and xbl2 in 8s to lower the natural frequency response

i agree that underhung is a nice trait for an SQ speaker.

I wouldnt mind trying an ultra sub the peerless xxls 12 just looks better to me due to the lower inductance and low fs of the sub. Some subs make up for high inductance with more motor force like the new type r 8 and the sundown subs but inevitably you still have to eq more to get a flat response. I would love to try infinite baffle but idk how to do my hatch whrre it wouldnt just be a really big box I would need at least 4 walls to isolate the rear wave to the rear of the car

Stamped baskets...:wallbash:

Why would you need anything different the basket is good for the weight and strong as hell. I could drive my car onto a stamped basket and it would be fine

Yeah, let's take the price up to $200 so you can have a better looking (not performing) basket.

I was certain I had too, lol. Would love to see some x parameters for this little monster, specs look promising. I dont mind the little le it has, will roll off premature for its size, but the little spike caused by le might help flatten (though not as natural sounding) the response if tuned low enough to have the tell tale dip above fb. I have a box I'd like to try one in if the X set looks good!
