Boston Acoustics GT-2125 2 Channel Amplifiers at Onlinecarstereo.com (http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_29452_Boston_Acoustics_GT-2125.aspx)

Rated 600W@2ohms bridged and that's an effing joke. Wasn't hard to get this thing to put out 1.3K without even reaching 1% distortion. If you need more, there's always the GT-2300, but it's just a little bit big at 22" (the 2125 is 13" long)

Why are you sticking to Class D, btw? This 2125 worked wonders on my sub stage. 600W@2ohms is a cakewalk for that amp. I was running it daily tuned to 900W just for a little more oomph and the amp barely even got warm. 40A of fusing btw.

I also remember seeing a GT-25 for right around what you were looking at which has essentially the same ratings, but is Italian-made.

It doesn't have to be class D. I just like 1 ohm stable amps. And I would love to trade this amp I have to someone.

Fair enough. Just a fyi, it doesn't have to be Class D to be 1ohm stable. I have a pair of Class A/B Sony ES 2-channels on hand that are 1-ohm stable in stereo. One is capable of 1K@1ohm mono. And they're both smaller than my Boston.

Hey - I thought you got a D2 sub? If you got the D2 (Dual 2 ohm Voice Coils) then you need 600 @ 1 or 4 - Not 2 ohms...

the OP needs 600 rms @ 1 or 4 - NOT 2 ohms - 2 ohm power is of ZERO use to the OP - Just trying to help clear any confusion up ;)

He also currently has a Nice Crossfire XP6004 4ch (75 x 4 @ 4 / 150 x 4 @ 2) in good condition that he is willing to work some sort of a trade deal on for a good mono amp that meets his needs = CLEAN, RELIABLE, & EFFICIENT 600 rms + @ either 4 or 1 ohm

Lol Jax, you really can't hold onto amps, can you? Thought you just got the SS...

And yes, that GT-28 is a beauty.

I have more than 1 old school SS. and I have actually a matching 4 channel gt-42 in route that will go perfect with that gt-28. just worried I cant support it electrically. the bostons are one of my favorites. fan cooled and can mount anywhere. really very nice amps

I agree. My 2125 impresses me almost daily and I haven't even started taking it over rated power on comps, but for an amp rated at 600W in 2ohm mono, she did substantially more than that. Kinda wish I could take the Bostons off your hand for a future 3-way front stage setup, but it's too far out and I have a feeling I'll end up going Zed or Zapco anyway. I'll try to find you regardless and see if you still have them, though. I really love this series and have yet to run the Italian-made models.

I had both series although I didnt have the first run Italian till now. I had the gt2125 and it had plenty of power. honestly I would be crazy to get rid of them cause I cant replace them power and quality wise.

I have had lots of zed too. cant say anything bad about them but I cant pay the cost of the current stuff. not when I can have all the channels I have dirt cheap. only reason the boston is not in the car now is cause I am still playing with a Rubicon 1002 . when I get the 4 channel Boston I will install them both and hope it can handle it. I am really wanting to hear this gt28 on my sub.

The real downer with the Boston amps is, even though they're A/B, I feel like its potential is wasted on sub duty. That or I'm just used to running A/B amps on my sub stages. Output is impressive and the whole line is dramatically underrated when you're considering it for use as a subwoofer amp. I mean I got 1300W@1%THD on that 2125, so I would be willing to say that you'll have the same results with your GT 28. But man oh man are these things made for raw, clean, transparent power on speakers. As for efficiency, I think you may be okay running the two Bostons with the Big 3, a second battery in the back, and otherwise stock electrical. Don't quote me on that, though.
