I have a pair of audioque hdc312.
the box I made is 4.33cuft after all displacements. tuned to 33hz. with 60sq of port.
the amp is 2000rms.
I have a jetta, the subs are firing toward the back seat and I have made a board that seals the trunk from the cabin round the sub box. so you fold down my back seat and there is the cones.

with this current setup, it is not as loud as I would think it would be nor as musical as I would have liked,

before this current set up I had a single hdc3 12 off 600rms in a box of 2.34cuft and 33hz and the lows were better and the total sound was much more musical. with the old set up the sub was firing like normal toward the back of the car.

my voltage drop with the current 2000rms at stays round 13.0-13.2 with the 600rms amp I never dropped below 13.6

why cant I get crazy lows and a very musical sound out of the pair and 2000rms?
is it because have have them firing toward the back seat and I have sealed the trunk from the cab???
here is a pic of my back seat
http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NTYzWDEwMDA=/$T2eC16V,!w8FIc9EmsBTBSMRqGVRBQ~~48_20.JPG

or is it because I don't have enough cuft for the pair??

tx1.2600 and 1 ohm final and yes I have double checked with a meter and I made sure that they are both in phase.

Did you design your own box?

Still have the design?

TURN THE FUUUCKING BOX AROUND!!!!! what is the fad that thinks sealed forward is the way to go ...ive tried it 3 diff times and sounded like azz with half.the output ..it doesnt work in every car ..and the loudest teunks in the world arent sealed off..load that bish off the trunk and if ur box is built decent it will sound 100x better

Im not a fan of re calculator or that design but it should be alot better turned around

Weird box design and whenever the subs are facing the rear it always amplifies the lows.

to me the box kind of sounds small. HDC3 subs like larger enclosures for most cases. thats only 2.17 cubes per sub...... i would have aimed closure to 5+cubes net.

see that's what I was wondering. but I have see so many cars with it firing forward and it was hammering, well in the morning I will try spinning the box round and seeing if that makes the difference.

If you liked what you had and wanted to double it, the thing to do would be to build another box that was exactly double the one you liked. That means double the volume and double the port area.... not length, for the same tuning.

You less than doubled the volume and from what I saw, it looks like you have the same port area for two drivers that you had for one... so the new box can't sound like the old, unless you set them both on fire.

I have yet to hear in person a sealed forward setup louder than mine firing back

4.33 after all displacement isnt bad hell my hdc4s are in 4.4 @32 but i have almost 80" of port ..i think u should up the port ..and since u arent overpowering them try 5ish cubes if it will fit

I went from 5 cubes with 15"of port per cube to 4.4 with 17;5"per cube.and lost no output at all ..ou just have to work with what u can fit ..and ditch the sealed forward bs

Can't believe nobody said this yet, love the movie its from, can you name it or are you all too young to have seen it

There's a lot of things you don't get...Like poosy and respect!

Try pulling it witin 8" of the trunk ...always louder to me ..good place to start ..then u can slowly push it back and see if u lose or gain output to find the optimal spot

The loudest trunks do fire forward though, with box all the way back but they all burp over 60Hz.

I've always liked the sound of firing forward better as normally you will peak higher. But usually doesn't play as low since wave doesn't have time to fully propogate. Mine doesn't kill the lows, but a few other guys on my team with forward firing dual 15's do. They both run Nightshades though...

Im not.a fan of sealed at all .and i kno the loudest fire foward but like u said real high ...i wana be at 150@32 not 52 so doesnt work fornme ive tried it all and im loudest port back ..very setup and car dependant ..

Normally you'd want to fire it forward if you have a cheap trunk that has incurable loud rattle syndrome where no amound of deadening and CCF can help.

GL doing that out of a trunk with 2 12's. Not impossible but surely not easy...

OP if this isn't the same amp as before then check your SSF to make sure it's not set too high...

Decaf has 2 15's that do a 50+ in the 30's sealed up and a 53+ in the kick.

Where do you peak?

Not so bad then, won't be way below vehicle peak. I peak at 51Hz, higher then when I had a wall. So low 30's get ZERO cabin gain...

Did you have any peaks below 30hz, for all the good they'd do you, haha. My car peaks at 51 as well, I also have pretty good peak at 26hz too though.
