my wife has a 03 focus and we have a kicker L7 square in here trunk, and its sub & port forward. her box is around 5.6 cubes gross and right around 5 cubes net i believe. we had fun getting it in there though. we had to take the top of the box off and remove the top of her back seat as well as the paneling from behind that seat. but we got it in though lol...

I put it in a calculator and it says I have 10.7 without port or sub displacement

for that sub you shouldnt.

and with hers does pretty well for all stock electrical and only 6 gauge power wire lol... shes does about 143.8 or so on a music average for 30 secs. if i upgraded her power wire and added a 2nd batt in back she would probly gain a bit from that but shes happy with it the way it is

Build it in the trunk...and 3ft3 net each is small for those subs.

Are you just needing an enclosure design?

I think the reason people always try to cram a 10 cube box in a trunk, or insist on running 15's in 3 cube is because they've never heard a good single sub build in adequate box.

Just jamming the most cone area in a trunk is less than optimum.

That is not a lot of sound dampener for all of that coverage.

Please take no offense but your statement is the reason for the header/title for my thread, I have been to so many car audio shows competitions it's not funny, I have heard 4-8's sound like 2 bad *** 15's before I am all about good building and displacement, but when you say " you have 2-15's in a focus" , most people are like **** no way kinda the way you are stating, I am one of those people that do stuff that people say you can't, Or to put haters in check :)

O.o not sure what to do other than doing 2 layers?? I've covered anywhere I could.

It's not hate, it's practical experience and trial and error. Pair of 12's OK, single 15 OK. I've done a pair of 15's in a trunk and it's just as loud or louder with a single 15 in an optimum box with enough room for sound waves to get into the cabin. Collectively many of us have spent countless man hours and thousands of dollars in materials proving that this isn't a good idea, but hey, I'm sure you'll get different results if you simply ignore people who have already figured out the hard way.

1 15 in a 4th or 6th order would beat the 2 in a slot/aero port.

I would highly suggest minimum of 7ft3 net for the pair with around 8ft3 net being more ideal...but space is an issues so "making due" will likely be what is required for you here.
