Ok ....

Got the 12" XXX - Love it, yea yea blah blah.....

I need more!

So will b trading in the 3 for either a tahoe or suburban, hopefully i get the burban.

Will also b trading in my 12er for 2 15" ers.

Got the plans as to how i want the box to look.....

Like so!

The left is how it will look bear, and the right is with a cover over it.

This is how it'll look if i go ahead with the plexiglass idea. Thinking bout scrapping it.

It will be 1" MDF or HDF if i can get a hold of it.

Will be giving them about 5-6 cuft each.

Wanted to dual tune it, like ahave a removable port, was curious if you guys could provide some ways of doing this.

Want it 28Hz when i'm being nice, and about 40+Hz when i get nasty.

Think i will be gettin the D72.2 (if it happenes to be available by august - 3 months from now!!!)

also gettin some XXX comps / 100.4s - not sure how many sets as yet.

So let me know what yal think

And help wid da Dual Port.

Ok ... LOL maybe that's why i wasn't getting any replies.

Originally i was asking what would be the best way to have a swappable port with my set up, but i have devised a way.

SO a new ? i have is

I used Loudspeaker101.com for my slot port calculations.
Was planning on having all my ports 15" x 2" , thus meaning the length will be the onlly thing changing.

According to Loudspeakers101.com for a

With a Vol of 5.4cuft

28Hz - port would be 15" x 2" x 13.58"
42Hz - port would be 15" x 2" x 2.97"

Does this sound right, and can any1 verify?

Used BCAE1.com , but their calc seems off for square/slot ports

yep, you figured it out, you can either vary length or area

as to the measurements, go to JL's website under tutorials under Ports, that equation should do you quite well, also has some things about slot ports i believe
