New forum boner detected. Instead of 8's everyone will be running half a dozen of these now. Very nice looking woofer though.

Jacob, box sizes?

0.33 cubes tuned to 35 Hz yields an F3 of 30 Hz :)

It is 4 and 1/8" deep -- power handling rating is pending.

Our life-test at the factory passed 300-watts RMS for 12-hours full bandwidth in a sealed box -- so I will probably rate it around that.

JUST got the e-mail in confirming that -- we'll also do our own tests.

Will these be available is d4's or d2's or just s4's or what?

sundownz

S4 will be the first run.

Spec sheet from factory LMS :

http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/protos/X-6.5SW/Response_and_Specs_7-30-13.jpg

I measured Le on my Woofer Tester II as that was not included at 1.81 mH

Any kind of timeframe available yet? Would love to run a few of these

O damit, I am all over a pair of those!! When will they be available/ You should make them in 2 ohms as well so we can run a pair at 1 ohm.

Any idea on timeframe and when a presale might go on? I would like to get 4 possibly

Subwoofer. It has an FS of 30 when tuned to 35.

It's an actual sub-woofer with response high enough to play midbass as well.

I will post when production starts with the ETA.

Three of these in a t-line would make for a compact box that would reach down to ~23 Hz with authority and still play high notes well. Might be a fun project.

What is the Sd of these drivers?

Sealed in the kick panel? Maybe.... :ponder:

Revised prototype is on the way -- suspension is a little stiffer (ported F3 is nearly identical) with re-enforced glue joint and a few other modifications as well.

I will post up testing on it when it's here :)

Third prototype is done -- specs coming in between the first two prototypes. The box model graph is essentially identical to the original. Hopefully I have reached the perfect balance of mechanical durability and response -- should have it after new year some time in my hands :)

http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/protos/X-6.5SW/Dec_2013_Prototype/Response_Comparison.jpg

Gray is the first prototype I published spec on which was a bit too soft.
Yellow is the 2nd prototype that was way too stiff.
Green is the 3rd prototype that I hope achieves the best balance.
