What kind of power?

ciaonzo
02-21-2013, 02:58 AM
Thermal would probably be the usual 1500w, mechanical will depend on your enclosure. Anywhere from 600 to 1200 should be more than enough but I know some ****** will try to break it anyway.

Just curious, whats the triple slug behind it?

ciaonzo
02-24-2013, 01:49 PM
Just curious, whats the triple slug behind it?The triple slug has a 10" basket on it, gathering parts to build a pair of LMS drivers. The quad slug directly behind it is an LMS4000 15", and the one to the right is another prototype sample basically a TC9 with lots of copper in the motor.

This sub more spl or sq?

Depends on how you want to use it lol... For anyone worried about the spots on the motor you can use my guide on motor polishing to take care of them

http://www.caraudio.com/forums/car-audio-reference-database/536230-how-sub-motor-polishing.html

ciaonzo
03-04-2013, 10:03 PM
Yep, this will do either pretty well but I would say the balance slightly favors SQL more than SPL. Stick it in a sealed enclosure and it's got the stroke to get down and dirty, or stick in a vented enclosure and it's got pretty decent BL and thermal capacity to drive a port. This would also destroy in a home setup!

I normally polish the motors but I just don't have the time I used to have at my disposal. Someone else can do it if they like that sort of thing. The last one turned out pretty well.

Cianzo mind if I bump this bad boy up? Wish it was a dvc. I want this so bad but can't afford an amp to push it well enough. If I only had a nickel for every time I viewed this is be able to buy it.Thanks. It really doesn't need much power, although it can take it. I guarantee you would be grinning big with as little as 500-600w in a medium vented enclosure tuned somewhere around 28hz.

Cianzo mind if I bump this bad boy up? Wish it was a dvc. I want this so bad but can't afford an amp to push it well enough. If I only had a nickel for every time I viewed this is be able to buy it.It's a head game. Most people would laugh if you told them that at normal listening levels you're using something like 15-30 watts, but it's true. You might also be interested in post #11 (http://www.caraudio.com/forums/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=11) in this thread. ---> http://www.caraudio.com/forums/subwoofer-classifieds/565658-tc-sounds-tc-7-10-a.html

GUYS... JUST THROW WHAT EVER POWER YOU HAVE ON YOUR DRIVERS. Stop playing the game with yourselves that 8 or 4ohms equals weak pathetic output, or that it's a waste of amplifier power because your amp makes more power at 1ohm. lol

I mean, take your existing system and turn it up as loud as you can. Now turn it down one or two notches, something that you might quantify as roughly 2dB. You just experienced the big difference between 4ohm and 2ohm in the real world, lol.
