Not considering price? My buddy has some 12's in a custom built enclosure and they hit awesome on a phoenix gold ti1500.1.

that sounds cool, my poor l7 is in a **** box and is being powered by a boss chaos. plan on geting a fosgate or phoenix to power it soon. my sisiter has already told me it shakes dishes in the house slightly from a good distance away so i cant wait to get the full extent out of it!

they are ok i guess. im not highly keen on them myself but my wife is satisfied with hers. they can get loud but dont usually sound very good. my wifes L7 sound surprising good, it surprised me for sure on sound and on meter considering how hers is setup. she did a 143.8db on music for a 30 second ave. she could probly burp a 145 or close to.

well, i like chest pounding bass, deep bass that you feel in your stomach. i hope my l7 can do this when i upgrade because right now, its not doing that

you will need to tune your box low then. im not sure how low the L7s like to go however.....

Not exactly... They will tear them selves apart with rated power if you go too low hence why Boomsday said poor design... One of the Vendors on here can design and build you a box

No big deal man you just have to be careful with them to an extent... You will be happier with it in a custom box but it may not kill the lows like you are expecting...

Yes, I meant ask you what to tune it to though, not to build it.

oh. i mean her car peaks at like 43. her box is tuned to 42ish.... hers plays down to about 35 or 36hz and sounds pretty good. getting below that starts to sound kind of hollow sounding if i turn it hardly any. i mean i would tune to low because yes they will tear there self apart like said before. also the quality will depend on which year model of L7 you have.

Tune 38-40. You won't be disappointed. I ran Solo Xs for a decade, L7s before that.

I am by no means a kicker fan (unless we are talking old school). BUT...L7s are an exception to that. I came across an L7 15 for $75 and jumped on it. Im a college student and before I even had it in a box I had it hooked up in my dorm room shaking the crap out of the ceiling tiles. In a ported box it can get hard to breathe with just one of these. They're loud no doubt. Are you going to get the sound quality of a JL W7? No, kicker doesn't do great sound quality, but will you get stupid SPL that tears things apart? yes, and honestly that's what this sub is, loud and fun. Is it worth the price, thats up to you and what you want from your system.
