I still regret not getting the Dynaudio upgrade in my Passat when I pulled it off the lot. I priced out the consumer-level 3-way and 2-way systems to replace the stock drivers a year later and came out to about 1800 just for drivers (not including electrical upgrades and amplification).

Considering becoming a Dyn distro as well?

I was teasing, bud. It's great news, though.

you should grab a set of the cadence and see how similar or different they are...sound, material quality etc.

No comparison, man. A VVX might look kinda like a W6, but they definitely don't sound the same. Do the Cadence make competent midbasses? Most likely, yes. But look at the FR response between the two and I think you'll figure it out.

I ran the cadence 6ks like 5-6 years ago, gobs of midbass in those, took 200per side with ease, the tweet that came with the set was trash tho

the dynaudio is one of the best drivers on the market ,the escotar2 driver msrp is 800 each ,not pair, and reproduce some of the clearest sound you will ever hear in a car speaker or component .if done right ,the system that is , you'd think that you were hearing a live performance.

Watch this video along with parts 2 and 3 and you will stop thinking those Cadence mids could sound the same as the Dynaudio mids. There's more to it than just FR plots, and even then all the numbers and graphs in the world can't tell you how they actually sound.

I have the cadence and for the money are great drivers. They are very smooth. The midbass is excellent. The only problem I had was mounting them. They are where to deep for my doors. I made baffles but under high excursion the dust cap would touch the back of my door. I replaced them with Polk momo's and the cadence are better all around and take way more power. Going to build custom pods to fit 6.5's need the midbass back.
