I always had plans for lift wheels and tires so the first thing I did was upgrade the brakes
Dimpled and slotted rotors with ceramic pads

Original Sound equipment, to be honest I had this set up for about 3 months before I started plans for this console.

Soundstreams for the front doors and the 4 Subwoofers, the build actually went into hold at this point for a little while shops either didn't want to do it or wanted to charge all kinds of money. I'm a do it yourself kind of guy but I had absolutely no idea about car audio, almost sold all the equipment.

http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii483/ibf150/0f247320.jpg

So while the build was on hold I built these bad boys, one of my favorite features on the truck:

of course me not knowing much about car audio and really wanting to do this build I started doing research and pretty much came out empty handed on any consoles with 4 10s, a shop or two even said I was crazy and I should just wall it. No can do I use my backseat too much so I enlisted Vinny, now a friend to show me how to car audio. He's been doing car audio longer than I've been alive and it's a great honor to learn from the guy.

Y'all are the lucky forum, this was actually a really really SLOW build I go to school full time, and work full time. Vinny works full time and has kids. This is my latest build thread I'm doing and well y'all are lucky we're this far along to where I can dump pictures!

At this point the console was still sealed, we thought we were not going to have enough airspace for ported:

We tested it like this and it sounded killer but deep down in my heart I wanted ported

VIDEO:

when we tested it sealed, hardly any tuning just threw it in the truck real quick to see what it sounded like.

Started working on trim pieces to liven the console up a bit

http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii483/ibf150/B60D3402-04BE-46BC-924B-2244B4819836-300-00000016AED1912F_zpsd18707a0.jpg

There will be another trim piece on top at the front of the console that meets the dash so that it is seamless. There will be felt on it so it wont make any noise when it rubs on the dash.

Thanks ya'll

On my to-do list before school starts back up in January:

Pull out the whole interior and lay down alphadamp

Paint Dash Red to match like my buddy Jake's

https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/559496_425963727415360_536061417_n.jpg

And then I'd like to finish the door panels as well, a little nervous about that still doing my fiberglass/door panel research.

This is how I'll be cutting the door panels to begin the pods, plan is the front two aimed at the headrest across the cab and the back two flat so I dont have clearance issues with my seat.

Alright looking for some input here, looking at the door panel picture above. (That's how I'll be cutting mine.) Would it be better to cut mdf in that shape and build off that? or to take tape lay it down in the area and resin/mat to take that exact shape then build off that? I've been told these door panels are a little ambitious for my first time fiberglassing but I've been hearing that since I started working on the truck haha. I've spent months reading and watching videos on glassing so I think I'm ready to take the leap.

Thanks in advance.

I think your best bet would be to drop a piece of MDF in there so you have a flat surface to work from.. It will help you get both sides equal since you want to aim them, etc..

Still need to finish tuning it and I need to let the subs break in. Bass knob was at 75% radio at 35/40 I'll have to get more videos tomorrow in a horizontal way so that it will be full screen. Electrical needs to be upgraded for sure and my Kicker KS68s that are in the doors are feeling the year of abuse I've put them through so I need to get on the door panels STAT

Super Happy with the way the center console sounds. Most people that ride with me have found it to be too much at 20/40 on the head unit but it puts a smile on my face. No updates on the doors yet but here's a picture to hold yall over for now. I need to find time to make some more videos soon.

waiting on high flow cats, X pipe and borla mufflers. Doing a true dual set up dumped behind the axle.

I'm gonna hit up the local junk yards this weekend in search for an extra set of door panels so I can start working on that since my doors aren't keeping up with the bass. If I can't get a set for about $100 I'll just cut into mine and start. I need to get them done before Gator Drag

Trim piece details are finished, just needs to be wrapped now, Vinny is having some trouble with the back curve but he'll get it done. Should look really sharp once its covered in the black leather

Well I beat the hell out of the truck offroad the other day which of course led to issues haha.

Broke my 4wd that weekend and well my broken 4x4 turned into a big issue bad hubs/bearings led to locked up calipers up front

http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii483/ibf150/4420545F-117A-4270-9CBD-E93AC24F9832-177-00000009842457FF_zps100eb75c.jpg

guys at Auto Empire took good care of the ol girl though, new hubs, cv axles, brake lines, calipers etc pretty much a brand new front end.

I also ordered a set of simulated beadlocks for my XD Diesels this is just a generic image of them on a 20" wheel:

http://www.intergate.com/~rpurcell/96k3500/diesel1.jpg

To KMCs knowledge I'm the only person with a set of 22" simulated beadlocks, they are at the shop getting painted red to match the truck.

Next audio plan:

Well I'm keeping the 4 10s in the center console and I'll be adding 2 18" PSI in a 4th order blow through on an SQ2200.1 I'll be upgrading my electrical before I build the blowthrough. Knowing me there's a possibility it will eventually become 4 18s. I'll be contacting Jason Summers about the design and I'll post it once I have it.

Haven't had a chance to make too much progress on the door panels between work and school, but I'd really like to make progress today after work.

Well after talking to a few of the little guys that have done SEMA builds they recommended a facebook page for the build. If you guys have a facebook and don't mind going by and giving the build a like I'd appreciate it:

Well been busy as hell with school and work so haven't updated in a while. Just had to dump $5700 into the truck in the past couple of weeks. Full rebuild on the front end with all new parts down to the brake lines and a built 600hp capable transmission since I picked up a block to build up for a forced induction build.

The build is going to expand with 2 18s in a 4th order blow trough. Some truck **** for now:

50" across the roof, 30" in the bumper.

I've been thinking about powder coating the bumpers for some time now and my buddy suggested I plasti dip them to see how they would look. Needless to say the bumpers will be getting powder coated in black.

Appreciate it y'all

have you got to hear the speakers yet? im debating on buying a set of soundstream comps.

I have two of them hooked up in the truck right now, they are 8ohm so they are only getting 40 watts rms. They do get loud on low power and I'm impressed on how they sound for a pro audio speaker. I can't wait to give them some more power and have all 8 hooked up. I can't really give you any input on their components as I have never used them, but the distributor I buy from told me that their reference and tarantula components are excellent.

Haven't updated too much lately been busy helping everybody else work on their stuff.

I just found out within the past two days that I have not 1 but 2 photoshoots at Scrapin the Coast! so things I was going to leave undone for a later date suddenly need to be finished.......

I'll be temporarily wrapping the pods on the doors with a short hair fur to hide the imperfections. It matches pretty well with the interior.
