Looking at getting a standard cab truck with bucket seats. Going to rebuild the center console as a sub box. Looking at a high powered 10 that will roughly get me the output of my SA15.

I was thinking FI BL or SSA ICON. Either will be on 1500@1 or how close would a Sundown Z get me?

you should check out the upcoming X series from Sundown....I'm sure an X-10 would slam off 1500 watts

Looks great but **** I did not want to spend that much lol.

The v1 is not even out yet...

There are going to be many factors that will come into play. Every vehicle is different, how much power is your 15 getting? In order to get a 10 to be as loud as a 15 you are going to need a lot more power, but the smaller cabin area will help. The ICON and the bl are both great drivers.

?????? I'm confused

15 is getting RMS at about 600W at 1 ohm but I know I will need more power and I plan on getting a saz-1500d for whatever sub I get. I dont want to do the alt upgrades and everything else that comes with 2k + power or else I would go more because I have to stick to one small sub

Is there anyway you can fit a 12 how much volume are you going to have?

Oh **** you're right lol thats my bad

I dont know I dont even have the truck yet. Its an 05 dodge 1500 standard cab. I imagine 1.5ish cubes to work with. Its going to be hard.

Your first step will be figuring out how much room you actually have.

I actually wanted to get it orderd up before I get the truck. I am fine working with abouts. After port and sub displacement I just dont see fitting a 12 so im going to stick with a 10 and be ready for the truck.

Idk what ur shooting for but a new x series on a center console box sounds like a mofukkin plan to me

since u asked stricly output, get something along the lines of a AQ HDC or similar
icon and bls are both good drivers but may not get u the output ur looking for

Think a 4.0 would be ok at 1500 or should I get a 3.0 and set the gain a little low?

Get an hdc3. Hdc4 take more than double your power to really get loud

Hmmm... I think the SA-10 will be like your SA-15.

I kind of figured the sa10 would be a step down from the 15 since they have the same motor, right?

you said similiar
getting a 10 to sound and be as loud as a 15 can be hard. Gotta use a beefy sub with some power

Because the last one I tried to used I failed bad lol

True. I mean similar in output. I really dont want anything less than what I had but close to will be just fine. I figure with the cabin gain from being so small I can be about there with a 10

15 is going to move more air. It's naturally going to be louder than anything smaller(As long as same power and box quality are there).

The only way you're going to see (maybe) the same results is if you add power. Which means you have to go with a beefy 10. I suggest looking in the classifieds or have
@SPLaudio (http://www.caraudio.com/forums/member.php?u=66506) ; build you one. But even then, you're going to miss the lower end that your 15 gave you; if it was in a proper enclosure and seeing its full potentional.

The 15 is only on 600 watts which is why I am going to almost triple it. I highly doubt my 15 is at full potential, im not that good of a box builder. It does sound great though.

Thanks for the advice I will get a hold of that guy and see what he has to say.

might be time to have a box just designed and built for me when I get the truck, actually.

There are plenty of amazing designers/builders on the forum.

Going from a 15 to a 10 is a step down itself"....... To get as loud as the 15 your gona need more power...then more amperage batteries alt wiring it all adds up!
Hope you got a box builder who can figure your cabin gain... Box will play a HUGE roll...

It is going to be hard to get a 10 as loud as your 15, but you can still get loud. I would really try fitting a 12. If you do a 10, I would try to fit it behind the seats, not in the center console. Here is my SSA Icon 10 in my regular cab chevy. SSA Icon 10" - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLvrMsCNaRs)
It has low mounting depth which is perfect for behind the seat.

can happen easy but will have to up the power to 1500rms.

i have done mid 40s in several of my cars with drop in box and a single 10"...

Do two tens facing up towards the roof and port towards the cab wall
