hey guys, from the south houston. i have a new tahoe with a few things done to it, now it's time to start the audio. i'm not sure how much i love third row seating yet, so i can't decide what to do. i've had several different set ups in past vehicles.

i have two Type R 12's and a RF T1000.1BD in the closet, which i love...just don't know what i'm going to do yet.

Sounds like you have a start, don't forget to start a build log when you decide what you wanna do! Welcome!

Awe man, it will be annoying for 7 more posts, but it is to help spam bots from blowing the site up. When you hit 10 posts, you will be able to post them. Almost all of us upload to photobucket and post a direct link to the thread we are posting the picture in. But you only got a couple more posts left and it will be fine.

yeah, i use photobucket also. i was gonna post a few pics of some previous set ups in my other rides. but i'll wait till i hit 10 posts!

well, i haven't posted in a while. and i hate to report back with this but i opted to keep by third row seating, so it wont be a crazy build. i got a ported downfiring box for the type r 12's. I'm still going to use both r's and the RF T1000.1BD. i know i could get really loud in a tahoe and i'm kinda dissappointed in myself but oh well... i will have a suv that seats seven and a box that will still get down well enough.

with all that blah blah out of the way, i will be installing tomorrow/monday and will post pics.

good luck on the install, look forward to seeing pics!!

You will still be able to get plenty loud behind the third row, will just take some trial and error to get it right.

this may be a vague question or poorly worded...

what is the best way to wire this set up. i'm using two Type r 12's 4 ohm and will be in a ported box, powered by the RF T1000.bd.

Welcome bro. Where at in South Houston are you. Tahoe looks great in your pic. Those KMC Slides go well with it

Lots of TX guys around here it seems. Maybe some of us can get together when I'm down that way for shows or something.

i'm in galveston county. and thanks, appreciate it. the 26's slides sit perfectly with the 2/3... not bad for a daily.

well, i ditched the type R's and got T1's, for the simple fact that i got a killer deal and i actually like them way better. There isn't much SQ to them, but they get down.

looks nice, how does it sound? have you tried to meter it? lol i've always been curious about down-firing boxes and how significant of a dB gain/loss there is (if anything at all)

i haven't metered it and i couldn't even guesstimate a range.

it sounds really good. it doesn't get too low (which i expected with it's size) but it is surprisingly loud for it's size. all in all, i'm satisfied with it since i got to keep all my seating and still get plenty of bass. i would recommend it to anyone wanting the same.
