Hey guys, I am officially starting another build. Rather than post only pictures I am going to take you guys along for the ride with video updates! Enjoy!

Phase 1 is making my amplifier rack. Starting with making some insert pieces to hide the amps.

Got my template transfered to a smaller piece! Now to do some more routering to get the smaller piece converted to a female shape so I can cut out the inside of the larger panel.

That looks pretty sweet. I recently got a router as well and haven't had a chance to play around with any stuff like this yet. It will be fun to start doing some stuff with it, though :)

Alright so I got the amp rack supports complete. This little assembly is strong. And I must say adding the threaded rivets is amazing for mounting the base. To see what I am talking about watch this:

So, I haven't posted in a little bit due to the Holidays and traveling. But I'm back and ready to get down to business. Been learning Adobe Premiere so expect my videos to become better, also ordered a wireless mic, so I cant wait to improve the sound quality in my videos! Anyhow heres a quick update:

I ran the power wires, signal wires, and the speaker wire. I am bypassing everything factory. I color coded everything with the techflex. I must say I love working with this stuff. Really cleans up an install in my opinion. Obviously its more of a "looks" thing that can't even be seen, but I like how clean it makes the install.

Running the wiring:

http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o768/caraudiofabrication/DSC_8508.jpg

Power wire bundled:

http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o768/caraudiofabrication/DSC_8517.jpg

Signal and Speaker wiring, I tied em down, but after I took this picture (Also the previous owner must have put that sound deadening there! Kinda funny!):

http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o768/caraudiofabrication/DSC_8518.jpg

More bundles:

My lady insisted on taking the pics, I like this one!

Here is the latest! As you can see I know have my panel wrapped with vinyl and the insert wrapped with suede! In this video I will show the technique I use to achieve this. You will learn how to wrap a piece in vinyl as well as suede, and make it look perfect. You have to check it out and let me know what you think!

So I have been testing sub forward and sub rear. With forward I definitely get more bottom end output, facing rearward I get more output in general. Still need to completely decide

Just read through this, man. I'm at work so I didn't get to watch the videos, but I think I've stumbled across them before. This should be stickied IMO. Great fab work!

I've always heard sub rear at the rear-most part of the trunk will work best to prevent cancellation. Of course, it's a trial-and-error process. It would never work for me because I need my trunk space.

Got the main piece wrapped in vinyl, its glossy looking because I put on Armor-All.

Stay tuned for the video showing how to do this!

Yeah, that's clearly the only way to get comments, and youtube views. At least it feels that way. I spend days editing my videos, showing you guys how to do things, and get few views. Someone uploads a video that has four 15's or 6-10's with shaky camera footage left and right, and distorted mic going nuts, eleventy-billion-views. Oh well, I appreciate those that do take the time to watch. All these techniques could be applied to a large build too!

Great stuff man!!! When is the next video going to posted up. I am thinking about doing something like this except I will be having a aq3500 for my two twelves a 4 channel for the highs and a battery in the back. Which autocad program were you using so i can try to work some magic? I am not sure whether to have the two amps in my spare tire like you did or have my battery down there and do something else with the amps. I am leaning towards the idea of two amps in spare tire I figure the size diff really wont make a difference since I could cover that up. Keep up the good work

Thanks man, I use SolidWorks. You could always try google sketchup though. If the amps are different sizes I would offset them front to back, if they are side to side I think it would look strange. Covering them up though like I did, but with similar shapes will help you to "link" the two together visually and it will be more appealing.

That's exactly what I was thinking having the big amp in back which is about 25" and front amp in front which is 15" then hopefully fitting the batter right in front of that if it fits. I am going to measure it up and I will let you know what u come up with. I am definitely more confdent now that I have seen your videos

thats what I like to hear man! Thats why I take the time to make all these videos, I want people to learn and take their skills to the next level. Saying I helped someone improve on their install skills is an amazing feeling.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. Meade subscribed a while back and Soundman recently. Its really cool to interface with those guys. Both great dudes and have awesome YouTube videos.

Here is the latest. Since a lot of you have kind of followed the progress of this build I am curious what you think of my latest editing skills. I am only beginning to use Premiere and am curious what you guys think so far. My audio in my videos really ****** before, what do you guys think of the latest?

This video shows my wiring is complete to the amps. I just need to determine the final location for all the distro blocks once it is integrated into one of the beauty panels, that is why I left some extra.

I stepped out of car audio for a year or so and I'm just now catching up to this thread. You do awesome work and I'm surprised you haven't gotten much response from this build. I believe the last thing I saw from you up until now, was the kerfing video. Let me tell you, that video was much awaited around her and everyone that already knew how to kerf, never wanted to tell their secrets. You do excellent work, I'm going to subscribe and check out the rest of your YouTube videos.
