I'm building a box for 3 Kicker L7 12's for a guy locally.
It's going in a Tahoe powered by a Fosgate 20001bd.
9.75ft^3 tuned to 34hz designed by myself.

Here's some pics.

Good start man. Should be loud for sure. I miss my squares . People dont like how they sound but I never felt they sounded as bad as most people would lead you to believe.

I was surprised how good they sounded.
The guy said it was like day and night compared to his other box, and I'll be getting more work from him;)

As long as you have the space they want they sound fine IMO.

Do you just use glue, no nails or screws?

Titebond II, 15 gauge brad nails to line up, countersunk #2 (http://www.caraudio.com/forums/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=2) square coarse thread pocket screws to squeeze tight. silicone caulk on inside joints.
Pretty much overkill...all you need is glue and clamps.

Man that's pretty sick! Like the way the subs sit flush mounted. And I agree with Spooney. The L7's put in some work in the right box.

I've been building cabinets for 10+ years, glue and clamps is all you need.
If you glue two pieces of wood together, and try to break it, it's not going to break at the joint you glued....trust me.

I know glue makes a very strong bond I just don't trust it myself lol.

How did you make the 45 cuts on the 2x2 bracing? Tablesaw?

It's the multiple angles of the bracing that is absolutely sick!

Beautiful box, very nice handskills, obviously you know this at 10 years+ wood working. I just try to get my boxes cut to specs, beauty comes in time ;)

I suppose it also helps to have the right tools, and a nice workship. Not on my sidewalk. >_>

Great work, the definition of clean carpentry. the 45's are what struck me the most... that and the cleanliness of your work area. I am jealous! One question... did you install it as bare MDF?

Thanks man..
Yes, bare MDF...he was planning on painting it, but when he seen it he said he just wanted to show off the woodwork:blush:
I guess the finished bare MDF look is my signature...not too many people put the time in that I do...it's pretty easy to spot a box I've built locally at shows.

I have something different planned for my next personal build....stay tuned, should be done in a couple weeks.....Fi BTL N2 15" fully loaded FTW!!

Good looking box man. Knowing the squares, I bet that got pretty loud. Tell him you know a guy selling 2 Solo Xs and he can have you build a box for them. Would be a step up ; )
