i ended up with 16x8 so 128 sqinches. Im hooking up the amps in a little while. How do i post a direct video on here man?? I want you guys to be right there with me when i fire this bish up!!
The reason for the 50 hz tuning, is beacuse the sealed resonance the last time i checked was 50. So we will see how it works out

it should still peak fairly low with 50hz tuning. should move some air hopefully.

Post #3 (http://www.caraudio.com/forums/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=3) . If you click on one of the pictures it will take you to the photo album. Then you can se them all??
Taylorfade, I made the sealed dise 3.75 for the 2-15s , then ripped up 2 cheap motel pillows and put all the poly fill in the sealed side. I inverted the subs so the mototr and magnet are in the ported side. I think my tuning is off a little cause she doesnt dig up the lows like i hoped it would. But around 50-55 it makes your teeth chatter like a muther focker. So what do you think??

Now you just need to mess with the port until you have the sound you want.

Exactly!!1 thats why i love 4th orders!! I can just shrink to bring tuning down. because the thing is, im rovking a 3:1 ratio or thereabouts afterf all dispplacemtenst. ANy lack of ratio will br brought out by all the powa im running. Planing on selling the 2500.1 and shooting for a 3500.1 . Keep everytihng turned down really low for daily and crank it up for burps and shiit. overall im happy with it. On a 47 hertz burp im pretty sure im around 150 or 151. But i want to do some dam hairtricks and im not there yet. I know i need a lower note to pull hairtricks from a trunk car. like 30-35 hertz to really move some air and with my tuning being 50-52 its not there yet., Gonna shring the por to around 100-110 square inches and tune to 5 > See how low we can go then. Cause like i said, the sealed side has enough to dig upo the lows. Its almost 4.25 in theory with the polyfill. its 3.5-3.75 and tghen i added 2 pillows worth of polyfill top it

Looking at the box guys, does anyone have any bracing suggestions?? In was thinking of putting a
1.5" or 2" steel pipe with steel 1/4 inch plate welded to each end. Going from bottom to top. Use self tapping screws and slide the pipe inside and use the self tappers to secure the top and bottom to the inside of the box.
ANy other suggestions would be greatly appreciated, does anyone have any comments on how to make it even better??

Damm guys!!! I didnt realioze that the back of the box was gonna need 2 or 3 layers of mdf to keep from flexing so much. When i burp it, the amp rack basically jumps about an inch off of the back panel. Gonna do some 2x4s running up the back of the box. up and down not side to side. Then mount the amps back to the 2x4s. I knew the soundstream amps are notorious for messing up with too much vibration. SO imma layer the amp rack up a bit. Ive already broken 2 of the mounting feet on the amp

Before tearing stuff up, you could try more polyfill. 1.4lbs per cubic foot. The sealed side plays an important role in low end extension. Just lowering tuning byt altering the port can really hurt your bandwidth.

Too late. I increased the sealed section for 4 cf and still have 2 pillows worth of stuffing in the sealed side. It drought the ported section down to 8.22cf, dropping to 7.5 after woofer and port displpacement. Its still not getting low enough. My new tuning is around 55 hz. Im thinking of doing a slide in port that will bring it down to 45-48. See if thart gets the lows pumping. The overall bandwith is really good. Just not enough down around 32hz and below. I know i have the ratio this time, its gotta be the port is tuned to high. It has to be

what do you set your ssfilter and low pass at?? Currently i have the ssf at 30 and the low pass at around 80 or so. Also, since my subs are inverted do i need to slip my phase switch to 180?? Or do i just leave it normal.
Also,
therer is a setting on mky pioneer head unit thaqt says phase> It can be set to normnal or revefrse. WShat do i set it too??

Can you take the whole port out to gain some space back and make a new smaller port?

I can do that for sure. Or just keep this port for SPL and build a port that will slide in and be for daily. Drop the tuning down to about 45 or so. Running a sweep, Im peaking in the car at around 55 or 56 hz. Ive sat in some loud cars before, and this car @ 55 hz is making my teeth chatter and grabbing my throat.
Once i tune a little lower i should get a little more air movement corect??

What do you guys thinkn about the sealded side?? I asumed that 2cf per woofer would have been enough. It still doesnt dig up the lows like i want even with 4 sealed(maybe4.25 with poly) and 8.25 ported. Maybe im going ablout my loading nwall all wrong. Should i buy a sheet of mdf and do port on the drivers side??instead of the middle?? Maybe its my car, i see alot of guys have a good install doing the port through the rear deck, but that is so they can fit a bo=igger port. You can see my back deck and rear fireweall, i pretty much cut it all out so there is nothing blocking the port. It should be moving air but its not. Fuckkin pisssin me off bigtime man. Put work into this build and its not exactly how i want iot
Do you have any Leaks in the Box? I usually turn off the SSF, freq on my amp is set between 80-100...
When I had my 12 in a 4th I was at 1.8 net ported to 47hz , .8 sealed.. would hit anything from 20hz to 80hz all day long..
Who did the box design for you?

I dont have any way to switch the ss off. It goes from 20hz-50hz. SO luike i said i set it around the middle at 30. I did the design myself, and as you can see from tehpics i built all inside the trunk via Kregg tool pockethole jig. theres about 3 tubes of caulk used on all the joints , double baffle and 2"metal bracing on teh sealed side and ported side. The original design i drew up called for about 3cf sealed and around 10 ported, but from my last experience, i decided to maximize the sealed section for a total of 4 cubes net, common sealed chamber. That left me with 8.5 ported before any displacements. 0.34cf displaced by teh SA15s and whatever my port displaces leaves me with around 7.75-8 cf ported. Like i said, im having a terrible time figunring where to tune it to. Its not moving much air at all

Pull the subs from the sealed chamber and build a new front where you can mount both subs. Both subs and a big port firing into the cabin. Tune @ 35hz and see how you like that.

What do you mean a new front?? The box is in 1 piece and was assembled inside the trunk using a kregg pockethole jig. Do you mean turn the subs around so the motor and magnet are in the sealed side (with the face of the sub firing into the pored section??) They are inverted at the mooment

Some pics of what's actually firing into the cabin would help. I may be not getting what you said you removed.
