Talking about that piece of plastic that goes on top of the spider landing?
The previous owner screwed it down on top of the spider edge (it's a ring that goes all the way around) - and got a bit sloppy with the CA.

You don't need that ring when it is assembled with good glue from the US. Only need it in China.

the ring is a bit crooked - but the spider is glued down on the basket landing.
The ring is then screwed down on top of the spider.

Originally I wasn't looking for trades (needing to buy suspension for car), but I am looking for at few things as well that would trade towards:

Ipod touch
soloX10 recones (the grey '04 models)
L7 10's (2008 or 2011 models)
Memphis 16-MC4.75 or 16-MC4.125 amp

These currently have the Alpha soft parts in them (with the flatwound coil option). They were built for a big street-beater system (2k rms each).
I'll snag a few pics of the guts after I strip them down. RD has since redesigned the Elites a bit, you got an 'old' pair or 'new' pair?

I've also seen flat dustcaps as opposed to the rounded ones on these...

n8skow

Shipping is gonna be right about $30 each.

For recones - I'd talk to Atomic, PSI, or Sundown.
Z3 softparts from Sundown would be pretty nice - though I don't know what the spider sizes are off hand.

short-ram air intake for a Toyota 1ZZFE engine

concerning cost to build these - I've spoke with both RD and FixMySpeaker.

Softparts from RD, about $80 each to drop in Elite soft parts.
FixMySpeaker quoted me $425 shipped (for parts for all 4 woofers).

knotdrummer88
12-12-2012, 10:38 AM
****, you still have these? With the new soft parts what type power would these guys handle?

n8skow
12-12-2012, 02:23 PM
depends on the parts you put in...
The stock Elite's are rated at 1000 watts rms.

You could put in Alpha softparts - or something from FixMySpeaker rated for 1500-2000 if you wanted...

Interested in these but when I look on the web site and the local dealer the Elite series has a different basket? These look like the Alpha series basket but the Alpha doesn't come in a 10" version as per the web site. Was this an older model? How big a box do they need ported each?
Thanks
Mike

Correct, the company changed hands awhile back, and they rolled out a 'new' version.
With RD softparts, these are good in around 1.5 cubes (ported).
